Emulator Issues #2882
closedFree Look - WASD not responding
0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Enable free look in OpenGL plugin
- Attempt to use WASD controls
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The camera should move using WASD, but instead it does not respond.
It is still possible to pan the camera with the mouse buttons however.
Most of the time I am not able to use WASD, but on occasion I seem to be able to use it. I do not know how to replicate this.
Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?
r5813.
32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
32bit
OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
Windows 7 x86

When you start you just need to press left or right and the buttons wasd will work(willmote plugin with nunchuck);in wilmote new it is the same thing but now it is hard to configure buttons because when I set 1 buton with detect-add;but when I go detect another time or change the optoion device it freezes

Curious, because I had tried using Free Look in a gamecube game, where the wiimote plugin should not be needed.

it is the same because wiilote new and gamecube new have almost the same buttons to configure:if you dont know which one is correct just push all buttons exept wasd and then push wasd.....xD

This is still a problem in the latest builds (R700X).
Also, the shortcuts for savestates are disabled while moving with WASD in Free Look

Issue 4040 has been merged into this issue.

As I said in issue 4040, for quite a long time now, it is required for the SHIFT key to be held before pressing the WASD/0/9/R keys, likely as to prevent conflicts with the default keyboard mappings for GCPad/Wiimote.
The rewriting of the "tooltip" I (at long last!) committed in r7546 should hopefully clear up this "confusion" due to the old tooltip not mentioning this change...

is it maybe possible to just be able to map these buttons as well? maybe under the hotkey menu?

Yup, the config window tells you that you gotta hold shift now, it never said it before.
