Description

Anyway to have the cursor not autocenter when mapped to a stick? I get why it does, but is there anyway to make it just move the cursor - similar to the results you get when simply using Xpadder to mimick mouse movements.

If there's no way to do this, then throw this in the feature requests pile. :) Thanks!

There isn't any way to configure it that way currently.
A bunch of people have asked about this.

In some games this might be desired. Maybe make this an option?

Yeah, that's my plan.

Another idea, a button to disable IR input, since some games needs you to not point at the screen at all times (e.g. Super Paper Mario, upcoming Metroid: Other M) and in fullscreen mode this is impossible.

@ PianoGamer
There is a "Hide" button mapping for that.
You can also right click the hide button and reverse the input (using the "NOT" button) so a button press = show and release = hide.

Well another suggestion for that "Hide" functionality would be to provide the option to simply press a button to toggle this off/on. Currently, you have to hold down the button to either have it hide or show, which can be annoying.

Looking forward to seeing the autocenter thing though addressed sometime though. That'll make navigating the game's UI with the cursor so much easier.

Maybe some sort of autohide IR pointer for inactive controllers could work? When the stick is moved, the IR pointer would come back naturally.

This isn't entirely relevant, but talking about using the IR pointer with the stick.. I still can't seem to be able to slow the IR pointer movement, even though the IR pointer sensitivity was implemented. I use the IR pointer with gamepad stick, and its moving too fast to be able to use it properly. If I put the sensitivity to lowest, it doesn't show the IR pointer at all.. and all the remaining 3 faster (more sensitive) options seem all just as fast. Is it just me, or are others having the same issues?

@paavo
That isn't what the IR sensitivity is for. It really only affects real wiimotes.

C'mon Billard, I know you can do this! :)

The "Hide" option to be a toggle would help a lot !!!

Currently I`m using Xpadder to bind that keyboard key with a toggle to my Xbox controller ...it works great ...but still would be nice not having to use Xpadder for this.

Is there anyway to at least have IR binded to mouse properly and have the rest gamepad? I tried switching to mouse as device, map IR to it and go back to gamepad for device. But it gets mapped to the same axis as my left stick and doesn't operate in game.

At least with mouse properly assigned, I could map mouse to stick with Xpadder and get proper movement (no autocenter). I just wish autocentered could just be turned off completley and forever. :) Even with IR > Keyboard, button releases are still autocentering cursor.

wespipes69 use the default IR configuration with "Cursor X/Y".

Glad I asked. That worked and I'll just use Xpadder with this now - as a temporary solution of course! ;)

I'm having a problem with this too. I'm playing MPT (metroid prime trilogy) and I'm new at this emulator and can't seem to find this option, but when I move my mouse and leave it somewhere, the wii's pointer moves back to center, and I can't move my mouse to even PLAY any of the games.

C'mon! the Hide toggle on-off idea looks like an easy one so can any one handle it?

Would be a really nice feature to enable IR using a button . since games, like Super Paper Mario - you cant play while the IR cursor is on the screen.
You CANNOT find an old WiiMote that works well, all of them are -TR already(and no, not everybody succeed in installing the toshiba stack), so using controllers is a viable option, hopefully you could make it work.

Everyone can succeed in installing the Toshiba stack if they own the right dongle, e.g. the one listed in the guide and in the recommended accessories list. (Hell, there are even old non-TR remotes available and listed on that page.)
https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/wii-remote-plus-rvl-cnt-01-tr-connection-guide/
https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/recommended-accessories-dolphin/

That said, I do agree that relative cursor movement, IR autohide, and/or more-obvious IR toggling (you currently have to right-click "Hide IR" and set it to !NOT[button] and hold that button to use IR) would be highly useful and relatively trivial to implement.

...Hell, I might even be able to implement some of that. I'll take a look at the input code, see if my extremely-limited C++ skills are enough.
