Emulator Issues #3077
closedPunch Out in R6109 as far back as i can remember

Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play the game with any sound driver "AOPEN/DSOUND"
- Play the game with any emulated sound chip "HLE/LLE"
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Sound seems to be in slow motion at times, then seems
to finish before the video, i first noticed this by luck when
the guy named gray tiger laughed a second before his mouth moved
then the referee started to count "1, 2, 3" all the way to 10
Sometimes, for no reason some of the numbers are in slow motion
and sound robotic "OOOOooonnnneeeeeee"
Then be normal again, then FFIIIIIIVVVEEEE
each play though is the same, but the numbers in slow motion seem
to be at random, no specific one is said.
Playing with audio throttles, or frameskipping, etc does not fix it.
Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?
32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
R6109 x64 non-custom built in VS2008 on Window7 Enterprise
This is actually a developers machine "i write software for a small firm"
and everything was left at default, there was a warning while building
about redefining POINTER_64 _ptr but i left it as is, as that is generally
nothing.
OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
DirectX SDK AUG 2010 on Windows7 x64 Enterprise using VS 2008 fully patched.
Please provide any additional information below.
The frame rate to the game seems to be unaffected, and runs pretty smooth.
for your consideration heres the PC specifications
AMD AM2+ PhenomII 920 2.8GHz Quad
M2N-E AM2+ Bios 5001
3GB DDR2 667mhz RAM

Been playing around a bit more with it and
while using LLE and locking it to a third core didnt do anything but
make the sound far far worse "Total chops, 1 or 2 second gaps between 1 or 2 seconds of sound"
Verified not PC by running it on my wifes older XP machine
and on my personal laptop. same issues on all 3 PC's
PC2: WindowsXP on AMD4200+ on Radeon 4000 series "forgot what one, didnt check"
PC3: Samsung R580 Intel i3 330 and nVidia 310 4gb ram win 7

Same here, the game seems to run like its in slow motion in many parts, and this makes especially the sounds quite horrible. Sounds seem really random overall. Its far from being fun to play at its current state.
I have tried many different configurations, D3D / OGL, played with audio throttle, TLB hacks, frame limit, different graphics settings, but all with the same outcome. It seems the frame rate stays most of the time lower than maximum in this game (around 30-50), all the other games (SSBB, Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros etc) stay steadily in the max (60).
System: Dolphin SVN ~5600-6000. Win 7 64bit, Intel Core I7 860, 4 gb ddr3, radeon 4890 1 gb.

Again same, the framerate drops are terrible, i have a US and a EU version of this game.
the PAL version seems a bit smoother with the 60 turned off as it caps at 50
but for the most part, the frames drop to 20-30 rather then 30-40 so its the same
slow-motion stuff.
Disabling the option "Use Panic Handlers" seems to improve frames by just +1-+2
normally you wouldnt notice that but the framerate seems so STATIC in where they
drop and what they drop too that i picked it out easily. but still,
garbage sound.

with DSPLLE the sound seems to be alright (well, it's still noisy and slow, but the buggy sound like the slowness and robotic sound don't seem to be there)...so just wait for the LLE plugin to get mature :)
