Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.play various games (SMG1 and Wii sports)
2. Depending on weather cgd3d9.dll is in the dolphin root directory performance will vary

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Not sure what to expect except same performance either way. Downloading dolphin from "Emucr.com" contain cgd3d9.dll while those from "dolphin-download do not. To test in inserted cgd3d9.dll from one of my "emucr.com" downloads and noticed the following:

wii sports no dll
menu 440%
bowling alley 128%

wii sports w/dll
menu 435%
bowling alley 120%

smg1 no dll
observatory 60%

smg1 w/dll
observatory 55%

Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?

last tested on r6246 from "dolphin-download"

32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
64bit

OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
win7 home 64bit (nvidia 360m) using latest Microsoft drivers

cgd3d9.dll is not built with dolphin. (at least the release version). My advice would be to simply delete the dll as it is not needed, and obviously has a performance impact. (I just tested it myself, and there is a noticeable drop with the dll present.

Cool my thoughts exactly as far as removing the dll at the minimum. Im thinking it was needed many revisions ago but not lately?

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

This dll is not used anymore (and for a long time already)
It makes no sense to have it there.
