Funny, didn't have that issue when I played.

What are you're settings, plugins that you are using?

DX9 plugin:

Aspect ratio: Auto
SSAA: 4x
CPU->EFB access ON
Safe Texture cache set to normal
16x Anisotropic
EFB scaled copy ON
Pixel Lighting ON
EFB copy method: to RAM
Use native mimaps ON

I have tried many combinations... nothing, same result... even on openGL plugin.
On Internet, I haven't never seen a correct rendering on Dolphin. Youtube vids, pics.. never.

Xtreme2damax, please post your first in-game screen from RE4 :P
Like RBP08-3.jpg

Could be, I miss something.

Confirmed here too!

Hmm, must be a recent issue because it wasn't like this on my last playthrough. The problem likely resides in VideoCommon since all plugins exhibit the issue.

I've found an other kind of texture error...

So all of these are screenshots from DX11. I'm not sure if any recent changes caused this, but Leon's hand is severed and floating off to where it shouldn't be.

The last screenshot attached is from DX9, showing that the stretchy-looking texture problem doesn't seem to be fixed.

(using r6478)

i had the issue with the floating hand when i had d-list caching enabled. double check that you have it disabled.

Ah D-List caching is probably the cause (it was enabled). The other graphical glitches I mentioned (the knife, and the funny textures with the leaf fall) are still there though.

Btw, for confirmation, here are screenshots of things that were fixed:

Reccomended plugin configuration for RE4 DX9/DX11/OGL:

Aspect Ratio: Auto
Anisotropic filter: 16x
AA/MSAA: optional (OFF on DX11)
Mipmaps: ON
EFB Scaled copy: ON
Pixel Lighting: ON
EFB Scale: Integral
Ebable CPU Access: ON
EFB copy : Texture
Safe Texture Cache: Actived to Normal
Advanced TAB: Everything on OFF

Dlist caching problems are invalid for this issue, please uncheck that toggle... it's useless.

aavindraa can you confirm screenshot RB408-8.jpg playing r6478?
If yes, please tell me where is that game-section. I have this game and after r6478 I don't see this kind of bug anymore.

Boh! I've checked, looks like all flat or stretched textures are gone... :-|

"textures with the leaf fall" where is this bug? More explanation about this thing please.

gnick: I figured out the problem. I was using a build from another site, and they didn't recompile the plugins or something.

I switched back to MaMario's build when his site was up again, and the leaf texture glitch ("RB408-8.jpg") is gone, as well as the knife glitch ("RB4E08-5.jpg").

Here's the section that was glitched, how it looks now:

Edit: I take that back. The knife glitch is still there, but only in DX11. Dx9 is perfect. I'm not sure what revision caused this knife glitch, it also affects other things like the ganados.

It's probably a separate issue altogether. Thanks for the fix for this though! I can't believe the doors and windows are finally proper! O_O

  • Status changed from Fixed to Fixed

ok, thence I can revert status of this issue to "fixed".

Object of this issue (flat textures) is definitely fixed in order to all plug-ins (OGL/DX9/DX11).

Last issues you have mentioned are specifically concerned to DX11 plug-in.
Please open a new issue and report it as usual (if it hasn't been done already).

Issue definitely fixed in the r6478

Is there a way to make RE4 go faster because its going pretty slow(i have Dpolhin r6887)

Actions #18

Updated by aavindraa about 13 years ago

Do the standard fixes like EFB to texture, etc, read forums.

In recent builds, disable Audio Throttle. It's completely messed up and makes the game run in half-speed.
