Emulator Issues #3483
closedMario Party 8 Minigame "Breakneck Building" cannot be completed
0%
Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Start Mario Party 8 (Europe)
- Play mini-game "Breakneck Building". (A minigame in 1 vs. 1-Mode)
- Try to complete the third part of the Minigame.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
If you have to paint the Wall, you can paint everything but will never win/loose... the CPU-enemy canĀ“t win/loose too.
Issue 2721 is another one, but the output is the same - the paint flows down and to the side.
Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?
r6364 and older, didnt test it with very old runtimes.
32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
32 bit, dual core, idle skipping, use panic handlers, pal mode, D3D9, CPU->EFB access, 16x anisotropic filtering, hires textures, EFB scaled copy.
OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
Win7, real WiiMote
Please provide any additional information below.

The Paint stays now on the Wall, but I still cant win/loose. :-(
Can someone Check this out? I have a Savestate for this situation.

Yes, please provide a link to a save game (normal in-game save) and a save state and let us know which revision you created the save state with. Do not attach the files to this issue as their file sizes are large.

I do it gladly for you! :-)
But the game normaly saves only when you finish the whole Battle, so the savegame is only in the Main menu with some Mini-Games unlocked. And the "Breakneck Building" is not unlocked because I could not finish it yet.
So here the Savegame:

And here a save state (directly before the Mini-game):
http://www.wupload.com/file/2673460892/RM8P01.s01
And here a second save state (in the Mini-game short before the wall):
http://www.wupload.com/file/2673463452/RM8P01.s03
The Save States are from Dolphin 3.0.441 32 Bit
If you wandt me to upload to another Fileserver, please tell me the URL. And I dont want to register...
And if you have questions - dont lose heart and ask me :-)

I just tried it and the minigame is perfect. What do you mean you can't win/lose? Paint every inch of the board and you win. Must be an issue with your settings if it's not working right for you.

Ok, what settings do you have enabled? So I can figure out, whats my problem.
Here some screenshots of my settings.
Im using DX11 - is this the problem?
Updated by WesaMcDaniel over 12 years ago
What exactly are you seeing that's wrong? Did you try EFB>RAM?
Updated by EmEiBi over 12 years ago
Sorry, deleted the screen shots by myself.
Now I tried EFB->RAM and it worked very well. So I could win the game, thanks :-)
But the Paint fades out slowly now, with EFB->Texture the paint remains. Do I have another setting wrong?

Probably, the paint stays for me. My settings are pretty much the same, but take off all the speed stuff in the speed tab. Experiement. Also, there are a lot of mini games in MP so you probably won't play this too often so a minor gfx issue is ok. ;)

Thanks for your help. I figured out, that the Paint behavior is ok with EFB->RAM and DX9, so I could win and the paint stays on the wall, too. With DX11 I need to enable Texture Cache, that the paint stays on the wall.
In Mario Kart I get EFB->Ram 40 FPS and EFB->Texture 63 FPS, so I will switch to EFB->Ram when I play "Breakneck Building".
Thank You all for Your help!
