Description

What's the problem?
Running Soul Calibur 2 in R6509 gives a solid 50FPS with any setting. While the same settings in later revisions would crawl the game to 20-23FPS. I understand that changes are a must but that's a huge hit. About 50%.

Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"): R6676

(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem: R6509

Operating system and version:
32-bit or 64-bit: 32-bit

Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"):GRSPAF

Build command-line (not on Windows):

Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed? Raw ISO from Disc

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm in the process of checking later revisions between R6509 and R6676 to see which revision caused this.

I think I can save you some time - check versions r6571 and r6572 :) The first is fine but the second drops performance like crazy. Marcosvitaly knows about this and will try to address the issue at some point :)

Make sure to disable "emulate format changes".. this might cause the performance hit otherwise.

I tried disabling "Emulate Format Changes" in the DX11 plugin (although it was grayed out in the plugin dialog) through the ini.

However, I can confirm that the issue is between R6571 and R6572. If it's related to the FIFO work, then perhaps Marcosvitaly will be addressing it. This issue is quite old though?

If I can find some time out of my job, I could commit code to Dolphin...hmm.

well, Marcos knows of some slowdowns...because he tore down the whole fifo building and is building it up again accurately, that is to be expected. He said, after everything is done, he'll look into optimizing the code for speedup.
