Description

What's the problem?

Upgraded from r6676 to r6721 and Dolphin crashes every time I load SSBB. I do not have any other games to test with at the moment.

Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"): r6721

(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem: r6676 (see additional information)

Operating system and version: Windows 7
32-bit or 64-bit: 64-bit

Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"): RSBE01

Please provide any additional information below.

Re-downloaded r6676 to see if Dolphin would crash. Dolphin crashed on first run, but Windows automatically applied compatibility settings, and Dolphin worked normally on 2nd run.

r6721 always crashes. Windows does not apply compatibility settings. I tried to manually apply compatibility settings using Compatibility Mode but Dolphin still crashes.

Exception Info:

I would like to make a slight correction. I am running on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Can you try r6717 and see if that one also has the problem?
I'm getting the impression that many games out there highly abuse ISFS and get away with it on real hardware...

I don't have any crashes when loading SSBB in r6722 and I am using windows 7 64bit.
I don't see any compatibility settings you talk about.
Try to use a fresh build instead of just copy and replace the files.

I tried r6717 and the latest revision at the moment, r6723. Both are not working for me.

blackjade.gm, I have always updated using fresh builds, never have copied and replaced files. Compatibility settings can be applied manually in: Right click > Properties > Compatibility

Although the compatibility settings that allowed Dolphin r6676 to work were applied automatically by Windows.

My video card is a ATI Radeon HD 5770, if that helps. I tried loading SSBB with default graphics settings.

Disable compatibility mode and try again.

Compatibility mode has always been disabled. I disabled it after I tested it with the newer revisions.

If it's confusing you, the compatibility settings that were automatically applied by Windows on r6676 were not made through Compatibility Mode. I believe that the settings are made somewhere in the registry. Again, Windows does not apply these settings on the newer revisions that I've tested.

Hmm. I fixed my problem. I tried using a different file extraction application and the newer revisions now work properly. I guess my old extractor messed with the files somehow.
