Description

What's the problem?
I get a "corrupted memory card" error when trying to load Gamecube games. Dolphin does not give the "Writing to memory card A" message and even after formatting, the memory card is not readable.

Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"):
6790

(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem:
Problem does not exist on unibody MacBook Core 2 Duo Geforce 9400M.

Problem exists on Mac Pro 1,1 with Radeon X1900 using the same operating system and Dolphin versions. Tried with dual Xeon 5150 and E5320 to no avail. The MacBook has SSE 4.1 while the Mac Pro does not.

Operating system and version:
32-bit or 64-bit:
Mac OS X 10.6.6

Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"):
Tried Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

Build command-line (not on Windows):

Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?
Dump

This is similar to issue 3761 , but the problem only affects Gamecube, not Wii. I tried with build 6632 and 6480 to be sure and it's still there. And it does say writing to memory card, but not wrote to memory card.

  • Operating system OS X added

please verify that you have rw permissions to the appropriate place for a memcard on osx

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

i'll assume it was permissions

I just had this same problem, and it wasn't a permission thing. I quit the game, deleted the ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dolphin/GC/SRAM.raw file and started the game again and was able to format memory card slot A. The result was that a new file MemoryCardA.USA.raw was created in the GC dir. Hope this helps other folks with the problem.
