closedWave Race: Blue Storm - The racer's head "detaches" from the neck, and the racers tend to "twitch" while racing

Description
What's the problem?
Dolphin version with the problem:
R6841
Operating system and version
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Game ID:
GWRE01
Build command-line (not on Windows):
Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?
i think it was a plain dump from disc, uncompressed, 1.35gb ISO file
Please provide any additional information below:
i found that the racers tend to twitch, most likely an emulation glitch. And also while racing, the racer's head tend to "detach" from the rest of the body, as well as the body seem to not be properly aligned with the handles of the vehicle (in this case, a "jetski")

i also forgot to mention that the game may randomly freeze without any warning, and this freeze seem to only happen in the menus.

I have neither issue. You tried a default settings?
The only "new" issue I have is a gigantic hexagon shadow around my character unless I enable "emulate format changes". But if I do that, that option breaks a lot of games. Ugh.

i tried without "emulate format changes" and yes it create a huge square-ish shadow around my character, and the head is still detaching from the body, and i still experience the crash i previously described.

Are you for some reasons using cache display list caching ?

Nothing is checked in the Advanced menu. Using Dolphin Direct3D9 plugin.

I got your freeze in the menus. So that's confirmed. Enabling Single Core seems to fix that.

yes but if you use single-core only, it's a big slowdown for multi-core users like me. At least it did in sone games, a big framerate drop.

ok I think I've made a discovery but it needs checking more to conferm.
This issue seems related to issue 3797. With native mipmaps disabled the game dosn't seem to crash in dual core however you get the bouncy heads however with Native mipmaps enabled it crashes in dual core but the heads arn't bouncy if you play single core.

The weird character bugs are still present on 3.0-439 - stability seems fine now I think. Seems regardless of the mipmap setting also.
Basically, if you use Dual Core mode, the character will have various gfx issues (more so in Free Roam mode for some reason). Maybe it's to do with the unique water effects/reflection the game uses. I tried various settings and while it did change the behavior slightly, there were always clipping/displaced textures.
But, use Single Core and there's zero problems. This definetely got introduced at some point (over a year ago it looks like). I played before in DC mode with no problems. I'd recommend setting SC = true in the game ini until this gets resolved.

Uncheck everything in the patches tab in the games properties. I don't think the game requires them for anything anymore anyway. DC should be fine afterwards.

Good call! Patches need to be disabled and the game works fine. Game seems to be completely perfect now. You guys should delete those patches from the master copy of this game's ini and close this issue!
