Description

Crashing when attempting to configure input from a PS3 controller. Controller appears as "HID/5/PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller." Dolphin quits unexpectedly when selecting a button to bind. Problems exist with other controllers: Logitech Dual Action, and Logitech RumblePad 2; left, down, and right on d-pad stick, but don't cause a crash.

Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"): r6851

(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem: GCPad configuration works fine in r6839, but breaks in later revisions.

Operating system and version: OS X 10.6.6, 64-Bit.

  • Status changed from New to Accepted
  • Category set to controls
  • Operating system OS X added

Send me the output from "HID_Dumper -elements" with all those controllers attached.

HID_Dumper is available from issue 3929.

r6863 should fix the d-pads, but do send me the HID dump anyway.

@soren.jorvang: While the XBox 360 Controller works good since revision r6863, it appears as Device "HID/5/Controller/" in the GCPad Configuration Panel.

Here the output of "HID_Dumper" on OSX 10.6.6 for the XBox 360 controller:

Device: 0x400660 = { ©Microsoft Corporation - Controller, vendorID: 0x045E, productID: 0x028E, usage: 0x0001:0x0005, Transport: "USB", SerialNumber: "xxxxxxx", locationID: 0xFD141000, MaxInputReportSize: 14, ReportInterval: 8000, }

For the Playstation 3 Controller however it shows up correctly as "HID/5/PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller" but crashes immediately.

Here's the output for "HID_Dumper -elements" with PS3 Controller attached "PS3-Controller-Dump.txt"

Can confirm that r6863+ fixes the d-pads, they're working nicely now. Thanks. Playstation 3 Controller still produces a crash as described above in r6865.

Yeah i also confirm build 6839 works perfect with the PS3 controller, it shows the input device as SDL/0/PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller

in the newer revisions that crash r7228 it shows:
Input/1/PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller
Input/0/PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller

Dunno if that helps...
