Description

What's the problem?

Extremely slow FPS in game, about 24~26 FPS. GC's, Menus and Animations are OK, the problems is in game... I can't understand Why, I can run Zelda - Twilight princess Wii version, and RE Remake GC version, Both run smothly.
Its not the configuration, I use DX 11, because I prefer, but the problem persist if I use OGL and DX9.
The configs are basics...

The game is European, Pal GAME, so I should Get 30 FPS in game and 50 FPS in animations such as doors and CGs

Dolphin version with the problem :

R6928

(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem:

Operating system and version:
32-bit or 64-bit:

Win 7,64 Bits

Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"):

GBZP08

Build command-line (not on Windows):

Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?

A friend of mine, actually my neighrbor, dumped it for me to ISO, using GCdump. Its a 1,35 GB ISO file

Please provide any additional information below.

Resident Evil is showing a extremely slow FPS in game, thats is very strange, beacause Resident Evil Remake Runs pretty Smooth here...

My specs are :

Intel Core i3 540 @3,50 GHz (OC)
4 GB RAM DDR3 1580 MHz (OC)
Nvidia GTS 450 1 GB GDDR5

The version of the emulator is 6928, but I don't think latest updates would fix this...The configuration is OK, I can use OGL, DX9 and DX11 that the problem persists... I'm gonna show some Screens for u .. I'm Brazillian ;D

How can you post an issue without even trying the newest revision? If you had you would have seen by yourself that the "slowdown problem" has already been solved in one of the last FIFO commit.

you should read the forum before posting an issue like this. this is a matter of configuration, but I won't spoil the surprise as I want you to dig into the forum and find it yourself :)

Well it's worst than I thought...in fact I've actually noticed that you're talking about the PAL version (GC) that is designed to play at 25 fps and in fact you can play it at the correct speed. The NTSC and the Wii version are instead supposed to run at 30 fps.
Please close this non-issue.

First of all, today I downloaded the newest version, and guess what ? I'm having the same problem, so as I said, Its not about the version, I think Its some Bug... Like the BGM sound Bug, that no one can solve...

I did read the forum, everybody makes the same question but no one has a concrete answer :(

The Pal version should play at 30 FPS instead of 25 FPS...The NTSC version should play at 60 FPS
Oh my God, please understand ITS VERY SLOW, Why would I create a Issue thread If my gameplay is normal ?

ive always had this issue since rev 3400+ or so, and if u look at ur processor usage ull see that it wouldnt be using 100% of ur core 0 and core 1 wich it should before being slow.

the thing is that theres some comand on this game that emulator still doesnt understands therefore it cant do a correct recompilation, the processor emulator gets confused not knowing what to do and it starts losing frames without even using all the juice of ur processor.

im attaching the results on my machine
c2q q8400 2.66 (no overclock coz my bullfalo cooler is to noisy)
4 gb ddr2 800 patriot
ati hd 5770 1gb
win 7 ultimate 64

the game is running on dx11
i use this emulator for many years now, u can check all my posts on the forums and all my bug reporting around, i know how to configure this emulator and this issue is always there, never gone.

OMG, finally someone understands me, yesterday I got the wii version, and I'm having the same problem, I mean, I could gain 5~6 FPS, but the game is needs 60 FPS, and I just got 29 =/ One more Time, Its not the configuration problem :

I mean the Resident Evil Official Thread ad the forum ? Must be, but I made the proper configuration and I used the Proper Revision and the problem persists, c'mon Guys, I got a little more FPS in wii version, thats suppose to ask more CPU usage, but instead I got more FPS than the GC version, This is BUG.. Even If I enable the Vbeam Emulation and Disable Audio Throttle...I'm just going to wait some fix, so I can enjoy full quality without stress me... The weird thing is, I can play RE Remake GC version Smotthly, With full quality, full sound, no bugs, I mean Its perfects and awesome guys... This is my unique opportunity to play GC/WII RE series, since I dont own a wii, And here in BRAZIL, Its very Expensive... The triple price of your country ( I mean USA), I wont get one..

Hope U guys can fix It... ;(

If you wait for a fix you'll wait forever because there's nothing to fix here: PAL version (GC) plays at the correct speed of 25 fps in-game and 50 fps in menus, during movies and in "opening door passages"; while NTSC (GC) and Wii version both play instead at 30 fps in-game and 60 fps in other cases (Wii version needs accurate Vbeam emulation for reaching 30 fps and accurate cache enabled for avoid flickering in the movies).

That is the original speed of the game (PAL), if you want more speed change the framelimiter or use the NTSC version.

  • Status changed from New to Questionable

"That is the original speed of the game (PAL), if you want more speed change the framelimiter or use the NTSC version."

That, or try enabling the "Use EuRGB60 Mode (PAL60)" option in the Wii tab of the main configuration window. If it's supported by the game, it should result in 15/30/60 FPS instead of the regular 12.5/25/50 FPS.

Oh wait, this option isn't supposed to affect GC games...

Questionable is the questionable status;-), here dolphin is doing exactly what is supposed to: emulate the game at the speed it was originally developed...what should it do more?
The real problems of RE0 are that the OpenGL plugin doesn't work anymore (in both GC and Wii versions) - see issue 4107, and that the sound in the GC version is not 100% perfectly emulated with HLE - see issue 4078, while the Wii version has perfect sound even with HLE (and also full speed now if you enable accurate vbeam in game properties).

Hi everybody, thanks for the new issues status, at least, someone is monitoring ;D
I just got a solution that got me into the full 30 Fps in Wii version...
All I did was erase the Dolphin configurations INIs to reset the configurations, configured DX11 as I wanted and I set "Copy > to Texture" and "Accurate Texture Cache > To normal"...
Well, as I thought, configuration varies from machine to machine ( Processor, Video card, Memories) and that was the best configuration for, now RE Zero Wii version, is really at 30 FPS in game, the videos has some slowdowns, but its gets the full speed alone. GC version, is at that base, HORRIBLE !
Thanks every, just wanna help ;D

  • Status changed from Questionable to Invalid

You are getting speed = 98% which means that the game is running almost at full speed.
