Description

  1. I want to make clear, that this is not my personal problem, I just found out about this on the forums, I don't even own a Mac

2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Game launches
Observed: Crash

3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? Please specify the exact revision when the
problem began.

Crash in all tested revisions, Including 3.0

4) What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Have Mac OS X Version older than 10.6
2. Open Dolphin
3. Launch Game

5) What version of dolphin are you using (32bit/64bit along with the
version as it appears in the title bar: "R 4779", "R 6403M", "3.0", etc)?
On what operating system, drivers, and hardware? Be sure to list OS,
graphics driver information, and video card model if you are having
graphics problems, for example.

OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8
CPU: 2.26 GhZ Dual core
RAM: 4 gb ram
GPU: nvidia 9400m

6) Please provide any additional information below.
The error report says something about the symbol "_posix_memalign" not being found, Google told me that this was the case with all Mac OS X Versions below 10.6

OS X 10.5 isn't even supported at the moment, iirc.

  • Operating system OS X added

In one of his commits, Soren said he "dropped support for building on OS X 10.5." Some relevant commits include, at least, r392a589092270cf7 (SVN r6893) and rfa95b7d89fe06735 (SVN r6963). Note that before the GIT migration, there used (IIRC) to be a negative review for r6893 which questions the "no longer maintained Xcode 3.1.4 for Leopard" argument.

Now, for another remark. The SCons file, as of now, appears to reference the 10.6 SDK: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/browse/SConstruct#108

Or am I mistaken somewhere?

I am pretty sure that you can run it on 10.5 but you have to build on 10.6

The last build attempt I made on 10.5 threw up several issues that will prevent the binary running on 10.5 - use of the the 10.6 SDK, use of memalign which doesn't exist on 10.5 and use of OpenCL which also doesn't exist on 10.5.
