Emulator Issues #5309
closedDolphin FPS Drops & Graphic Glitches After 3.0-422

Description
Dolphin 3.0-422 was able to play at 30fps to 45fps. but afterwords all other revisions have only played at 15fps to 20fps and I first noticed this in Super Mario sunshine (It all seemed to work fine until the press start screen comes up and the fps drops to 1fps 1vps and mario is only a dark silhouette in the background.)
Resident Evil Remake GC ver Shows only black and white textures when loaded. Why has the Performance dropped so badly? I put my DXdiag in attachments so I hope the good old performance can be fixed.

It should have something to do with your "video card"

It couldnt be my Video card because these games work fine with no GFX errors on 3.0-422 so I'm wondering what could be wrong with the new revisions that is making everything slow and glitchy now?

At what point does issue start for you? 423?
Updated by shatteredlites about 12 years ago
all revisions after 422 have this problem
Updated by shatteredlites about 12 years ago
yes I download every single revision that gets released and test them all and they still have these issues

If this is true, it's one more reason to revert the texel->pixel mapping code in that place...

If I could record on vid how slow its running now compared to older revisions I would but I dont have anything to do that with because I would like to have proofe of how well it was playing games until now. could this also be the cause of the major drops in FPS?

If you run 422 right now, do you get speed ups ?
Updated by shatteredlites about 12 years ago
yes it runs very well I get 25fps 50vps even higher in some games. but in 423 and higher this speed dies all I get out of anything is 1fps 1vps or 5fps 5vps most worst is 1 frame every 5 seconds and 1 virtual frame every 10 seconds

Its Fixed Performance is back and all thanks

A new error has popped up PN3 game crashes while loading but this only happens when your fix was applied. after 423 it worked but it would show up in black and white but the fix you made has made it crash again when it loads I think the Texel fixed it so it could load but it wouldnt show graphics.

.. what error is it?
I also didn't really understand your second sentence at all...

The Game P.N.03 for gamecube Crashes when starting a new game and it has been doing this on revisions before r423. Idk what revision it originally started crashing in but r422 would run the game and as soon as you start a new game it would bring the loading screen up then the fps would hit zero then Dolphin would crash. on r423 the game will run and when you start new game it loads then shows black and white textures.

From what I understand it already crashed for you before r423 so it's not a new error...anyway here with Win XP SP3 and Ati hd4850 P.N.03 (GPNE08) works perfectly (except the music that doesn't loop but that's another issue).

All in all performance has dropped quite a bit the old Dolphin 2.0 ran at 30fps 60vps and there was no graphic issues but now its just slow the speed has been cut in half I dont understand why but if its the wii coding I think the dolphin would be better as two separate apps one for wii and the other for gamecube so we can keep the old coding that was faster and improve the gfx on it.
