Harvest Moon - Tree of Tranquility R84EE9
5) What version of dolphin are you using (32bit/64bit along with the
version as it appears in the title bar, etc)? Do not say 'latest version' this changes multiple times a day. On what operating system, drivers, and hardware? Be sure to list OS,
graphics driver information, and video card model if you are having
graphics problems, for example.
I'm currently on Dolphin 3.0 revision 720 64-bit. My OS is Windows 7 64-bit (latest SP). The graphics drivers on Dolphin I use is Direct3D9. My graphics card is the AMD Radeon HD 6570M, and my CPU is the Intel Core i7-2630QM. This system is a Lenovo Y560p laptop, and it has 4GB of RAM. This laptop is hooked to a 1080p 21" monitor/TV, which is where the game screen will be displayed on.
**Main question/issue)
I'm sorry if I am asking a question that will only burden the Dolphin staff without shining light onto a new issue/recommendation, but I will still ask. So basically, I want to play Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility at the highest settings, which for me, are setting the Anti-Aliasing in Graphics Enhancements to 9x SSAA, setting the Anisotropic Filtering to 16x, and internal resolution to 2x Native(1280x1056)—all without lowering the speed of the game at all. However, when I set the graphics enhancements to these settings and play the game, the speed the game runs at is effectively halved, consistently playing at 15-16 FPS. However, I can play the game at consistently full speed with the aforementioned internal resolution and Anisotropic Filtering settings—only, I must set anti-Aliasing at 4x SSAA for it to play at full speed.
Now, I'm just wondering: are my laptops' hardware+software specifications are sufficient enough to support Anti-Aliasing at 9x SSAA, Anisotropic Filtering at maybe 8x or 4x and internal resolution to 2x Native, and STILL play at consistently full speed (30 to 31 FPS)?
If so, how should I set my laptop's hardware or software settings to play the game at full speed?
I imagine I'd have to go into the system BIOS and overclock my CPU and/or GPU? I would greatly appreciate instructions on how to do that... As a side-note, I found that Anisotropic Filtering doesn't significantly improve the graphics for this game for me, so I'm fine with this setting being at 1x, as long as the game runs at full speed with Anti-Aliasing set at 9x SSAA. Or does anisotropic filtering improve the graphics significantly at each higher level? I was looking so carefully at the anti-aliasing effects, that I truthfully wasn't looking intently at anisotropic filtering's effect.
I must say that internal resolution at 2x Native and anti-Aliasing at 9x SSAA is incredibly pretty, making the graphics of the game look very soft and smooth, whereas none and 4x SSAA make the game look jaggedy, hard, and unappealing...though 4x SSAA makes it less so. This is pretty much the sole reason why I wish to run the game at full speed with anti-Aliasing at 9x SSAA on my laptop.
6) Please provide any additional information below.
If overclocking, or any other suggested method has a chance of being harmful for my computer, I DO have a notebook cooler, albeit a rather weak one. The one I have is the Cooler Master Notepal D-Lite, and it's a single centrally-mounted 140mm fan rated at 46.8 CFM (lenovo y560p's fan is at the center far-left of the notebook). If any additional information is needed to help resolve this problem, I will gladly give it in a timely manner.

change your GPU, but, you have a portable UC, so, change your pc to make a portable pc with a GPU like HD 79xxM / GTX 670-680M to use the 9x SSAA
your hd 6570m is too poor for this settings

You can't do what your hardware can't do, and your GPU is not capable of those graphic settings. We'd all like to run games full speed with all the graphic settings cranked up, but some of us realize that our hardware is just not good enough for that. What are the alternatives, you might ask. Well, that would be finding the right mix of graphic settings that you can actually use without the game speed dropping, or getting a better PC (an overclocked i5-2500k with an HD6990 would do the trick). Anyway, this area is setup to report bugs with the emulator, not speed issues due to hardware that is not up to the job. This would have been a perfect topic for the forum, though.

Like it has already been said the forum is a better place for such questions, yet you have already been provided with some answers, so ... closing the issue...

Thank you both for your super fast replies! I didn't expect that.
Regarding Comment 1: Sorry, what is this portable UC? I am very interested in your suggestion, though (or what I think it is, at least). Your suggestion brings up 2 scenarios in my mind, both of which I'm not sure is the one you're talking about. 1) I replace the GPU in my laptop with a better GPU. 2) I connect an external GPU/graphics card/extension--maybe via a USB port, another I/O port, or that one slot for card extensions of some sort--to supplement my existing GPU. I don't know if option 2 exists or is even possible, but that's what I thought up of. I will search those options up on google, but before that, have there been any reported successes with either of those options and how popular of an option are they?
Regarding Comment 2: I agree that this could be a suitable topic for the forums, and I did think about asking these in the forums. I appreciate the time and effort the developers at dolphin take to read these issues (even though this isn't a bug).

Stop asking questions here dude. You are very lucky you got anything.
What is wrong with you? You don't have a good computer. Read the rules...and GO TO THE FORUMS and start the 15,000th thread on "why my speed so bad"!

whoa....my bad, my bad! Looks like it's that time of the month again for a certain someone here! I heard eating liver and spinach helps.
After seeing your post, I obediently proceeded to ask myself "what is wrong with me?", but....seeing as there's something glaringly wrong with me, I couldn't think of anything. Obviously, someone who clearly is flawless and has nothing wrong with them--someone such as yourself--could provide me with some insightful and profound answers. Like how one answer here is seriously very helpful; summarizing with incredible accuracy the state my computer and I am currently in in just several sentences. The helpfulness of that one post is definitely very reflective of the one who posted it and its' overall competency.

Surmising your computer is “not good” is simple given the information provided…how could anyone not come to the same conclusion. There’s only so much you can do with software and only so much you can tweak existing hardware.
Everything is life is a tradeoff, sometimes you can’t have a Ferrari that gets the same fuel economy of a Prius - in your case, a mediocre laptop that you want to run a taxing emulator on FULL quality settings. It’s just a ridiculous inquiry to begin with. It’s just dumb. I’d prefer to see a question about why Donkey Kong does not run full speed at all versus a silly question like “the game runs fine, until I MAX every filter setting out there”. :)
Again, this is the LAST place for this stuff. We do not reward bad behavior to people breaking rules and misusing this site for ridiculous questions or else we’re just encouraging more useless posts on here from people like you. This site is about improving the emulator, not attemping to help weird individuals achieve the impossible. Take a hint kid.
