Description

  1. Game Name and ID (as it appears in right click > properties:
    Okami (NTSC/US)
    ROWE08

2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The game will play normally for about 3 minutes. Any time after the 3 minute mark up to about the 15 minute mark the game can experience a soft lockup where the VPS stays at 60 but the FPS is 0.

I have two separate save states of the game in this state.

3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? Please specify the exact revision when the
problem began.
I have tried the game on previous revisions from Dolphin 3.0-721-dirty to Dolphin 3.0-735-dirty with no successes. I have not experienced a revision without this issue.

4) What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Load up the game from the start and play normally.
  2. Play for usually 15 minutes.
  3. The soft crash should happen before the 15 minute mark.

5) What version of dolphin are you using (32bit/64bit along with the
version as it appears in the title bar, etc)? Do not say 'latest version'
this changes multiple times a day.
On what operating system, drivers, and hardware? Be sure to list OS,
graphics driver information, and video card model if you are having
graphics problems, for example.

Dolphin Version: Dolphin 3.0-735-dirty 64bit
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
Graphics Hardware: AMD Radeon HD7970 3GB
Driver Version: Catalyst 12.4, 12.5, 12.6 Beta, 12.6, 12.7 Beta, 12.x (http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33992611)
Sound Hardware: Logitech G35 USB Headset, Creative X-Fi Titanium PCI sound card
Input Method: Real Wiimote via Bluetooth

6) Please provide any additional information below.

  1. Attachments.
Two different savestates of the game currently in "soft crash" status with 60 VPS and 0 FPS.

Due to the seemingly random nature of this issue I haven't been able to get a savestate where it is reproducible on demand.

Would you please identify which revision this issue first started occurring?

I'm new to Dolphin and the earliest revision I have used is Dolphin 3.0-721-dirty - It didn't work in that revision. I haven't used any earlier revisions and Okami has never worked without the frequent 0 FPS soft crashes for me. It's pretty much the only game I get problems with.

There are chronological builds available for download here:

Finding the first revision where this issue occurs would help us fix the problem much more quickly.

Such issues is pretty random, very hard to find one that is constant

i believe this has been a known issue for some time, particularly with Windows 7 x64. try using "XAudio2" in Audio -> Backend Setting. it should lessen the effect but not remove it entirely

I think this is not an issue at all i've played Okami for a 5 hours yesterday, without a single crash or freeze, the reason of your freezes is using savestates, try to play without it, and save just the way the game offers
