Description

  1. The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker (GZLE01)

2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see the L and R buttons pushed at the same time, instead I see that when pushing both, one seems to cancel out the other (ie I hold both down and the output is nothing)

3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? Please specify the exact revision when the
problem began.

Not that I know of.

4) What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open Windwaker.
  2. Use L key on Xbox controller (mapped to both L and L-Analog with threshold set to 90)
  3. Use R key on Xbox controller (also mapped to R and R-analog)

5) What version of dolphin are you using (32bit/64bit along with the
version as it appears in the title bar, etc)? Do not say 'latest version'
this changes multiple times a day.
On what operating system, drivers, and hardware?

I'm using Dolphin 3.0-735-dirty 64-bit on Windows 7. I'm not having any graphics issues so I'll leave that out.

6) Please provide any additional information below.

If this is a simple fix (or already posted and I missed it), I apologize for my idiocy. I've followed some other instructions on different reports and had no luck in fixing this issue. It seems to me that the L and R buttons on my controller are on an axis for some reason, and when both are pressed the negative axis cancels out the positive axis. I'm using a MadCatz Xbox360 controller. While in the GCpad configuration menu, if I press down one button partially and the other fully then the action on the fully pressed button will be used (ie if I hold down R partially and L all the way, then I will lock on but not block). Any help would be appreciated!

This is not a bug in Dolphin, this is a problem with Xbox controllers and DirectInput.

Use XInput instead of DirectInput and the problem should be solved (in the devices list of the controller configuration window).
