Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Use r2163 or later with OpenGL Plugin and load HM:MM.
  2. Notice the Intro is completely black, the menu shows up when you hit Start.
  3. Also black In-game and in-menu, some icons do show up however.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected would be a perfect(?) emulation like r2157 and before. Instead we
get presented with a black screen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r2163 or later on Windows XP SP2 32-bit with AMD Athlon AM2/X2 4600+ and
nVidia GeForce 7900 GT with 2 GB RAM.

Please provide any additional information below.
Reverting VertexShaderGen.cpp from r2163 back to the satte of r2157 fixes
this problem.
Interresting enough, using the DirectX9 Plugin does not show this issue (on
the other hand, the graphics are not as good as with the OpenGL one).

I noticed this issue rather late since since I was mainly poking around
JITIL stuff with Zelda:TWW/TP and others until i returned to continue
playing HM. I did not notice any significant changes on those games after
reverting VertexShaderGen.cpp either, so I'm not exactly sure if reverting
those changes is a good and general solution.

One might also look at Issue588 for that, since those memory leaks occur
around the same revisions.

Also affected (minor Problem tho): Zelda: The Wind Waker.
Looking closer at the Title screen, including the changes of VertexShaderGen.cpp from
r2163 does not render the king of red lions (the ship), but it does render the
spray/splashing water of him sailing off. Again, reverting that single file fixes
this problem. In-game has no notable effects/problems with either.

strange...this is the same revision as the mysterious memory/resource leak. Might
want to bring this up in issue 588.

j4ck.fr0st when using that change you should enable the "r844 projection hack"

Uh, that one seems to work. Not only r844, but also r945.
Guess you can close this one.
