Description

Game Name: F-Zero GX - GFZE01

On Lightning Themed Tracks (Sapphire Cup Loop Cross, Emerald Cup Half Pipe, AX Cup Thunder Road) if you do a powerslide near the start finish line, the friction graphics glitch out. A power slide in this game is when you car loses grip, and turns very sharply while gaining speed. You can do it on purpose by holding both R and L, or by simply going so fast and turning, depending on the grip level of the vehicle. It's hard to describe what's going wrong, so I'll let a screenshot do most of the talking. Though I believe it could happen on other courses, I've just to reproduce it outside of the lightning family.

Note, working was taken away from the start finish line on the same track.

There is a line of what should be the sliding graphic zooming all the way over. This happens periodically during a slide, only near the start finish line. Getting a screenshot was a pain because it's literally there one frame, and then working normally the next. No graphical settings has any effect on it.

Due to the game running worse as few as 200 builds ago, the glitch is more difficult, but plausible to pull off even in 3.0. Do note, the first lightning track you load is likely to not have the glitch, to reproduce it consistently, if you're not seeing the glitch, simply load one of the other two. It seems to be completely random is/when it will happen. Last tested build is 3.5-426. (r0554ce927e0deebc21e12c30561c2edbabc8a74a)

Tested on a Core i5 760 @ 3.8 GHz with a GTX 470 and 8GB of Ram, running Windows 7 x64.
Got help from MaJoR on his i5 3570K with a GTX 275 and 8GB of Ram, running Windows 7 x64.

Fifologs- Cropped only has two frames, which doesn't show the nature of the glitch as well as the longer one.

For the record, I've seen this glitch happen on a real console as well.

Here's a screenshot I took from Lightning - Thunder Road: http://i4.minus.com/ibmp9UDJj1AuOu.png

That was captured on a Wii with the NTSC-U version of the game.

I've never seen it happen on that part of the track (on dolphin at least.) Still, if it happens on console, I think this issue can be closed.

Thanks Darkeye14 for getting a good shot of it!
