Description

Have you searched the issue tracker for a similar issue?

Yep, no duplicates (open ones at least).

Game Name?

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GameCube)

Game ID?

GFEE01

What went wrong?

From time to time when you start the game FPS drops down to 15-24 (fullspeed is 30) during into video (tower on yellow-orange background). The dropdown seems random, one gamestart it's 15, another is fullspeed 30. This itself is not that bad since ingame FPS easily raises to fullspeed 60.

The bad thing is that music disappears soon enough during ingame battles. Also music may firstly cut down to one channel and then disappear completely. Notable that sound effects continue with no problem.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Just start the game to see FPS dropdown (try few times as it's random). Not sure about music disappearing circumstances, seems random too.

What version of Dolphin were you using?

If my research is correct 3.5-513 broke the thing. 3.5-597 still broken

64 or 32 bit Dolphin?

64 bit

What version of Dolphin used to work?

3.5-491 and prior

What Operating System were you using and what are your hardware
specifications?

Win7, CPU i5-2500 (stock clocks), GPU GTX 580, 8GB RAM, sound Creative X-Fi Titanium

64 or 32 bit Operating system?

64 bit

LLE or HLE? Also which audio backend are you using?
I have several GC games with similar issues which are mostly fixed when using LLE+OpenAL.

HLE + XAudio2. Thanks for the tip though I would rather stick with older version than mess with LLE.

FPS dropdown seems to be a false alarm since I can't reproduce it anymore. No idea why. The music problem seems to be started earlier than 3.5-491. Probably somewhere after 3.5-410. Hard to tell more precisely because of much time needed for testing. I've switched to LLE and fine so far.

This is probably an issue with the first new AX-HLE merge. There are some games that drop music in HLE still, but those games also tend to have issues with LLE. I'm assuming this fixed, but will leave it open for anyone to confirm.

I've been playing for about 3 hours and can't reproduce any music problems. The issue report reminds me of new AX HLE first version problems + old AX-HLE behavior, and even though I have seen music cut offs in some games, I do not believe the behavior that was reported matches what I've reproduced in other games.

I will reopen if I manage to reproduce the issue, or if someone else reports that it is still having problems for them.
