Description

Game Name?
Tested Just Dance 3 (U), Just Dance 4 (U), Super Smash Bros Brawl (U) and Monster Hunter Tri (U)

What went wrong?
Games that have some kind of Nintendo WFC support started to trigger errors like "NAND content not valid for TitleID 00010005\7xxxxxxx" since 3.5-205 (r67d0e66af4fc) and became terribly slow after the merge of 3.5-438 (rca4ea817e094)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Starting with 3.5-205 (r67d0e66af4fc), all Wii games that have some kind of DLC support will show an error when booting (something like "NAND content not valid for TitleID 00010005\7xxxxxxx"). Not a big issue, pressing Yes the game will continue without issues.

However, after the merge of 3.5-438 (rca4ea817e094), all Wii games will run terribly slow (FPS 1-10) unless you turn of Idle Skipping. Even games that doesn't have Nintendo WFC features were affected.

What version of Dolphin were you using?
3.5-205 (r67d0e66af4fc) and 3.5-438 (rca4ea817e094)

64 or 32 bit Dolphin?
Both 64 bit

What version of Dolphin used to work?
Any version before 3.5-205 (r67d0e66af4fc) doesn't have the NAND Content error. Any version before 3.5-438 (rca4ea817e094) doesn't suffer the huge slowdown.

What Operating System were you using and what are your hardware
specifications?
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.2GHz
RAM: 2GB DDR2 @ 667
GPU: nVidia GeForce GT440 @ 1GB DDR3
OS: Windows 8 (RTM) [x64]

Has there been a fix for this yet?

  • Regression set to Yes
  • Issue type set to Bug

If this issue isn't marked as fixed, then there's a good chance it's not fixed. If it is fixed, then we didn't know, so you'd probably be in a better position to tell us that it is fixed, than we are to tell you.

Dear helpful people, can you please confirm this revision does not suffer the slowdown ??

This version works fine (only the NAND Content error, but no slowdown)... The slowdown started with the merge of 3.5-438...

Ok so the very latest I committed yesterday, does it still have the slowdown ?

Well, at least for me, both issues are fixed in 3.5-1366, even with Idle Skipping Enabled... So, this issue can be closed, fixed in 3.5-1366

Wait what.. BOTH are fixed? You sure you didn't disable panic warnings? I don't remember fixing the other issue...

Yes, both issues, and Panic Handlers were enabled. I think skidau fixed it some time ago, not sure if this is the correct revision but rd33c19b0cd2b fixed the NAND content issue...

Can you recheck all of these:

Tested Just Dance 3 (U), Just Dance 4 (U), Super Smash Bros Brawl (U) and Monster Hunter Tri (U)

I really want to make sure this is corrected, thanks.
