Emulator Issues #658
closedZelda TP and WW crash on code cache clearing
0%
Description
*What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play any of the games and try going through a door or a new area
- At some time the "Clear Game Cache" message should appear.
- Here may come the crash.
*What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
both games not always crash when the code cache clearing happens. I've
noticed that the crash always(until now it hasn't occured otherwise)
happened during gameplay(in the style I'm continuesly playing) and in WW if
game is on a cutscene(or after) the crash most likely won't happen.
Somthing particular: in TP the crash is related to TLB map memory error
advice while free moving and on entering an area.
*What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DolphinIl SVN R 2454 (happens in both Il and Not Il)
Operating System: Windows Vista: Business Edition 32bits
I have lastest Microsoft Visual 2008 C++ runtime library SP1 installed.

I just noticed the developing team already knows of the issue(it's not in the issue
list but in the developing guide)

This happens in Resident Evil Remake also, sometimes when an event is triggered,
zombies breaking a window or similar events.

This happens to me a lot in Twilight Princess. I have noticed, if I start a new game,
it will crash every single time when entering the town on Epona. If I make a save
before entering the town and reload the emulator. It will not crash. It seems maybe
there is some data being stored up and not cleared causing the crash maybe? I've
tested this on many versions and it behaves the same for all of them.
My specs are:
Intel Core2Duo E4600 @ 2.8GHz
1GB RAM
GeForce 6800 GS
Windows XP Pro

I found the temporal solution in the developer's guide. Run the emulator in debug
mode and turn on "Unlimited JIT Cache" that should do, but your fps will decrease.
