Description

Game Name?
Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2

What went wrong?
Starting up these games only gives me a black screen with the yellow tekst showing my PC specs. The window title bar is showing FPS at 0 all the time. VPS is 60 - 100%

What did you expect to happen instead?
Game starting up

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Select SMG 1 or 2 with any backend
  2. Click the play button
  3. The usual second window will pop up, however it stays black

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Dolphin 4.0

Which version of Dolphin used to work?
Dolphin 3.5

What are your PC specifications (example: Operating System, CPU and GPU)?

Windows 8 Pro 64bit with 64bit Dolphin 4.0
GTX 660Ti
Intel i5 3570K @ 3.4Ghz (not OC'ed)
8 GB RAM and 1TB HDD

Any other relevant information (e.g. logs, screenshots, configuration
files)
This problem happens with every backend used (DX 9, 11 or OpenGL). I have tried every option in the settings but no avail. Enabling External Frame Buffer and switching this to "Real" shows FPS increasing to 60 in the title bar but the screen still stays black and the ingame FPS counter still stuck at 0.

Can't replicate it here, might be iso related, check your isos and try to redump them.

Possibly uncheck the DSP LLE on thread option. In any case, this is a local issue. The game works fine here.

The isos works well on other pc's, unchecking DSP LLE on thread doesn't fix it.

I have no idea what's wrong here. Other Wii games works perfectly.

Ok guys, I figured it out. It seems that this has to do with the Wii language you have chosen in the Config settings. Choosing Dutch, German, Italian or Japanese seems to give me the black screen with FPS stuck at 0. Choosing English fixed the problem.

What has this option got to do with this problem? Anyone else who can reproduce this?

The game probably has region locking protection installed. You'd get a black screen on your Wii, if you had tried it.
