Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Playing Super Mario Sunshine
  2. Trying to remove the goo
    3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When I spray water on the goo, it seems to be removed (using OGL plugin)
but we realize that this is not the case ... This is even more blatant in
using the DX9 plugin: it is obvious that the dirt does not disappear. This
makes the game harder to play.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Tested with Dolphin x86 SVN: 1210
1997
2315
2390
Windows Vista x86 OS

Enabling "Copy EFB to ram" in OpenGL fixes this issue

Wow, it actually did fix it, since when? It sure didn't fix anything like 10 revs ago.

Whoever, it stops working after like 20 seconds or so.

well it's fixed since.. oh r1853 :)

and if "it stops working after 20 seconds", well that's the way it behaves on the
real hardware so...

On the GC the goo doesn't suddenly disappear out of nowhere leaving only the bubbles
visible.

yes, as I said in my other comment (which seems to have dissappeared without a
trace), this problem comes and goes. If you make a savestate and load it again, the
goo all disappears (or at least it did a week ago).

if you -Start- the game with the "copy EFB to Ram" option, then it works perfect
(except that you must run the game in the native res because EFB to Ram doesn't
resize the EFB the way it should)
Don't force me to show you comparison screens with the real game please :P

Regarding savestates i don't think they save the state of the EFB effects, so no
surprise there.

Whoever having the goo disappear out of nowhere simply by standing there looking at
it doing nothing, and leaving only the bubbles behind, is indeed a bug.

yes, that's broken with EFB to GL texture but..
Have you tried with copy EFB to ram ? (set this before launching the game btw)
Because even save stating works fine here on r2530+ with this setting, i did a little
record with Fraps that you may see (once youtube finished the processing part)
