Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Use Dolphin KB/360 pad plugin with x360 pad controller.
  2. Run any game.
  3. Use the analog stick to move the character: move up-right=dovw-left,
    move down-left=up-right.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In game when I press up-right the character moves down-left, same thing
when I press down-left and the character moves up-right.
I've tried it with Resident Evil Zero and RE:Rebirth.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I've used Dolphin SVN build 2276 in Win Xp Sp3.

Please provide any additional information below.
My PC has Cpu E8500 and graphical card 9800GT with asus p5q-e.

Try remapping the buttons.

I use KB/360pad plugin and I can't remapping the buttons of 360 pad.
The buttons are just mapping in that plugin and I can't modify it.

does your pad work correctly ib other games?

Actions #4

Updated by csc85 about 15 years ago

NO, work in the same manner with other game.
When I press only one direction (UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT) it works perfectly, but when
combine two direction (UP-RIGHT, DOWN-LEFT) the pad turns wrong.
Do you think the problem is the driver?
I have the Bigben interactive pad 360 with the standard Win Xp driver.

What about other programs?

Actions #6

Updated by csc85 about 15 years ago

With other programs, different from Dolphin, work perfectly!

Wierd. Anyone else having this problem, please speak up!

How far do you have to go in the second direction for it to turn funny?

This behavior could be from joystick bounceback (when returning to center), because
there is no deadzone adjustment on the 360pad plugin (which it desperately needs imho)

Well, I'm am a dev, but am also relatively new. I might be able to copy & paste some
code from the njoy stuff to the kb/x360 pad, but I'm not making any promises. If I
can fix this, it will be commited in the next 13 hours.

Updated by marcus about 15 years ago

ok, one of the devs says it already has a deadzone, so no good trying to add one.

What do you mean?

Actions #16

Updated by Anonymous over 14 years ago

I assume bbxc65 wants to add IR pointer control to the x360pad, which is offtopic
here (and might actually be implemented already? i'm not sure :p )

Anyways, what is your exact problem Slave2lifeMasterofdeath? I ask because it seems
like the original issue starter just didn't realize that Resident Evil games have
an...interesting...control scheme (it's relative to the player model, not global)

I can confirm and reproduce this issue. I've taken the liberty of preparing a YouTube
video demonstrating it.

x64 Dolphin r4775
Windows XP x64
3x Madcatz Xbox 360 USB controllers
Controller inputs look fine when viewed from "Game Controllers" control panel applet

Problem occurs in both Mario Kart Wii (car veers to wrong direction if steered even
slightly off-axis) and SSBB.

I have the exact same problem as ohnoesb on windows 64 with the madcatz xbox 360
controller and any gamecube game i tested so far.

I'm using Madcatz Model #4716; USB Vendor ID 1BAD; Product ID F016. Are you using the
same?

I got mine at walmart. I think I'm going to take them back and get real Microsoft
controllers, but in the meanwhile I switched over to XBCD drivers (pain in the ass to
get working, especially on x64) and an xinput emulator (x86 only, sadly) which seems
to have taken care of the diagonals problem while introducing a host of new ones.

I used Logitech ChillStream. This pad detected system as XBUSB (XBox controller).
All be fine work.

Actions #21

Updated by mail4krueger over 14 years ago

@ohnoes its exactly that pad.
@ekshenman do you run the actual microsoft xbox 360 drivers or generic or logitech
drivers?

Actions #22

Updated by ekshenman over 14 years ago

I set Logitech drivers witch detect as XBox 360

Actions #23

Updated by ohnoesband over 14 years ago

I replaced my Madcatz controllers with Microsoft Xbox 360 controllers and the problem
has gone away. I've gotten rid of XBCD in favor of the official Microsoft drivers
which work fine with these controllers. I guess if you're having this problem, switch
to XBCD drivers (pain to get working esp with x64) or get better controllers. I
wonder why it doesn't like the Madcatz controllers...
