What went wrong?
Dolphin no longer recognizes my controller, which is being paired on an x86_64 Gentoo Linux system. Dolphin 4.0 works perfectly, it's only the latest git revisions that it has broken. I'm using sixad as the utility to pair the controller to my computer, and the controller still works perfectly with joytest and retroarch so I can confirm that it is only Dolphin doing this.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The PS3 controller should be recognized and work as expected, the mapping is even created for it already. It's just gone from the dropbox and doesn't work ingame

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Use sixpair utility with a mini USB to pair DualShock 3 controller to computer
  2. Start sixad as a daemon or with "sixad -s&" as root
  3. Pair PS3 controller
  4. Turn on Dolphin and check GC Pad settings, only keyboard and mouse will show up

Dolphin 3.5 and Dolphin 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs. Have you tested with the latest version from
http://dolphin-emu.org/download ?

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
commit e805bf60685bb5f4bd5ac1bf0a290519a678e5b4 (broken)
commit 71d70d896fd6012eea94042e962dad2009086038 (broken)
commit 8923968b47ab27f571ff7464dc34143001c5a567 (works as intended)
Dolphin 4.0.1 (works as intended)

Which version of Dolphin used to work?
See above

What are your PC specifications (example: Operating System, CPU and GPU)?
Gentoo x86_64, "stable" 3.10.17 with nVidia 325.15
Intel i7 3770K 4.2ghz
16GB Corsair Vengeance Ram 1600mhz
nVidia 660GTX Ti

And my bluetooth adapter just in case:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0a5c:4500 Broadcom Corp. BCM2046B1 USB 2.0 Hub (part of BCM2046 Bluetooth)

64 or 32 bit Operating System?
64

64 or 32 bit Dolphin?

EDIT: After some testing, I've determined that a change in code in Dolphin did not change this, The builds that "broke" were merely built with libSDL2 instead of SDL 1.2. Do note, that this should probably still be considered a bug, seeing as SDL2 should support joysticks.
