I encountered the same issue, but found a workaround(didn't isolate cause, merely
disabled a lot of probable factors)
r2515 - Disable Dualcore/Idleskip
OpenGL - Disable native resolution, autoscale, RealXFB, bi/trilinear filter
One of those hit it, but I'm not sure which. I tried it on several different
builds(r2360, r2165, r1842) before attempting workaround, and the crash happened on
all of them.

Thanks alot, isolated it from your info, was the dual core, turning it off works.
Unfortunatly it causes huge slow down for me. Thankfully you can turn it back on
after saving and run normally.

Savefile please for NTSC version? And instructions what should I do to reproduce
that bug.

Actions #5

Updated by zantezuken over 15 years ago

OK, I'll rephrase: is this issue still actual? r203x is ancient now...

Actions #6

Updated by radioactivebabyx over 15 years ago

I don't have any save files from there as I used the "dual core = off" workaround,
the problem I'm having now is in the temple of darkness where it wont let me move
the blocks -.- so I stopped playing.

...
Pretty useful info. Even more useful than revision number, dolphin version (JIT/
JITIL) and system specs...

Issue is still relevant, I met the same problem later on in r2740IL(a discussion
shortly into Welgaia). Turning off Dual Core still fixes problem.
Temple of Darkness box issue is still relevant as well, but has no workarounds(I
downloaded a savegame from Gamefaqs to continue testing past that point)

Ok, so, first problem isn't game related and can be solved.
Provide me a save (memorycard) for "box problem" then.

Save file is below. Wont let me attach file to comment so having to use external
site sorry. Has memory card A & B, the save is in memory card A and save #3.

What should I do to reproduce the problem?

Just move up to one of the blocks with a face on it, for example, the block you need
to move is down the ramp to your right, through the door, up the slope and there is
a vent with a light coming from it half way up the slope. Press A to enter then the
block in there should give the option to "Grab" with the A button. It's a bit of a
pain in that the block before I had tried it for hours with the same problem but
then one time it was fine.

Not a clue sorry, I haven't tried again since april. Try opening a new issue as this
one is closed and people may not look at it as a problem anymore.

game issues are not really closed, they are just hidden
please do not create new issues for this same problem

Sorry, I just saw "Closed: Mar 04" to the right so assumed it had been closed by
someone.

about the box in temple of darkness.
hit "1/2 press" modifier while facing the box. the option "GRAB" will always appear!
my pal found it. i gave this game several week ago and now he's in temple of earth,
and he played it without having any bug problem in meltokio sewer and tethe'alla base.
.try it.

I was getting this error nonstop and would cause it to crash at the part early in the
game where you are in the base alone. It happened as soon as Botta approaches you
just before Genis comes in. I fixed this by turning off Safe Texture Cache, Native,
Optimize Quantizers, Auto Scale, changing anti aliazing to x1, and copy EFB to RAM.
It seemed to finally bypass that error. Running smoothly too. Don't know which of
those actually helped but I'm not complaining :P. Left Dual Core mode on too.

Well, here I am stuck with this ancient issue. I have been struggling for hours now trying to move that block.. :/ May I ask for a valid solution for dolphin 3.0-432?

I have tried pretty much everything above, exept that I don't understand how to press the "1/2 press" modifier. If anyone find this message, Please help me out!

"1/2" modifier is in the Gc pad in the emulator. When you click the modifler in the main stick, assign to any control and push it. then you will notice that the game is slowed to 1/2 pace then use the ring to make the box able to push. push it while you still in 1/2 pace. that how it worked to me.

there is also another explanation in here: http://wiki.dolphin-emulator.com/index.php?title=Tales_of_Symphonia

and here: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=867

Sorry for the very late replay. I hope it was helpful enough to let you contine and play this game to the end.

p.s: sorry for the english
