Description

There is no way to, by default, activate 3D in Dolphin. This can be achieved however changing the exe name to dirt.exe, googleearth.exe, etc. Apparently, you need to be whitelisted in the driver in some fashion in order to activate 3D (using the hotkey).

This absolutely used to work a while ago in DX11 but stopped at some point (maybe just a Nvidia 3D driver update). Not sure what we can do exactly about this but can we investigate what is required here to bring proper support back for 3D. I've tested all 60+ of my games in 3D and the majority render correctly (shadows in background, etc.).

Why did you limit it to Nvidia?

Just because I know specifically we can get working with Nvidia with a simple exe change/whitelisting.

Find the build that it stopped working on; that's potentially the best way to help out at this point.

I assume that is only for windowed mode. Try running it fullscreen (does Dolphin support proper fullscreen yet?).

This is not a window/fullscreen issue. It's a whitelisting problem. I've just been modifying the exe name every time I update (to dirt.exe) and I get great 3D on DX11 in all the games that doesn't have depth/shadow issues (about 25%).

Huh, well something changed. Latest Dolphin/Nvidia drivers, I can now toggle 3D again with the hotkey. Glad to see that back.

So, is 3D Vision working again in Dolphin for sure?

I still have to rename the file to dirt.exe in order to get the 3D vision working. This seems to be a bug on the nvidia end.

How did I forget to close this?! Whoops!

Further 3D support could be added in the sense of SBS support in OpenGL and D3D, which may perform even better.

Changing the name of this issue to reflect what the original poster wanted. Other 3D may come in the future though.
