That driver is more than 2 months out of date, so that solution is not ideal. Build 4.0-511 " Merge branch 'ogl-tex2d' " broke this game.

And FYI, Issue 7096 the person also reported Smash bros melee crashing. I just tested this in 4.0-1340 and it loads fine.

4.0-511 did not break the game, the nvidia drivers you are using are the problem. Rollback to the old drivers and test, and you'll be fine. The devs are talking with the Nvidia driver guys to get it fixed.

It's a bug in the NVIDIA driver, what do you want us to tell you?

And different games have different requirements for it to crash. Just becuase Melee boots for you doesn't mean it will not crash with certain sets of settings in OGL on those drivers.

Just curious, if it is a bug in nvidia drivers (if so driver 337 beta does not fix) than why are only certain games affected and newer drivers work with builds 489 and below?

Because the feature that we're correctly using is broken on the 334 and 335 drivers?
