Description

Game Name?

Kirby Air Ride

Game ID?

GKYE01, MD5 3aea2e470545ed22f4a9f72029304568

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.

The game shows a black screen and dolphin crashes upon ending the emulation

What did you expect to happen instead?

The game should play properly and not crash when emulation ends.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open Kirby Air Ride on Dolphin
2.Wait a few seconds
3.Attempt to stop emulation

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

4.0-1690 - Broken
4.0-1487 - Broken
4.0.2 - Works
4.0-1688 (ARM) - Works

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?

4.0.2 boots the exact same file flawlessly, and 1688 ARM boots it flawlessly as well. I remember some dev versions in the high triple digits working as well.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Windows 8.1 x64, 3570k, 7970, 14.3 Beta Drivers,
ARM: Snapdragon 800, TouchWiz 4.4.2, v66 Drivers

Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?

x64

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

The log does not appear to be helpful in this situation, only mundane stuff is shown.

I have re-tested on 1690.

Interpreter, OGL - Broken
JIT, OGL - Broken
JITIL, OGL - Broken
JIT, D3D11 - Broken

The 4.0.2 and ARM tests were using the JIT and OpenGL(ES) backends.

Unable to reproduce, boots fine for me. Do you have any cheat codes on?

Further testing reveals that the problem goes as far back as 4.0-609. I have not tested versions between 4.0.2 and 4.0-609 I tested 4.0-8 and 3.5 and it booted without issue. Testing builds in the higher triple digits revealed an error message stating that the program attempted to read an opcode at [00000000] and crashed. The program then exited cleanly. This was all on JIT/D3D11.

Shoot, I forgot that I had the Infinite Glide cheat code enabled. It boots fine without it on. It appears somewhere between 4.0.2 and 4.0-609 broke it, but that's probably not dolphin's fault. Thanks!

Certain cheat codes don't seem to work properly in Dolphin. I'm going to research it more and try to find out if this requires a separate issue report.

Thank you for the report and information.

On version 4.0.2 and x64 version I got the same problem. No cheats or modifications in settings done. Just fresh launch.

Then you likely have a bad dump, it's been tested on many configurations on 4.0.2 and it's known to work fine.
