Description

Game Name?

WWE 12

Game ID?

SW6P78

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.

There are lines all over the videos that display on the Titantron and around the stage when the wrestlers make their entrances. It almost looks like the lines are around polygon edges.

What did you expect to happen instead?

The videos to play with no artifacts of this type.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Play the game with any graphic settings.
  2. Start a match and watch the wrestler intros.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

Dolphin 4.0-1875

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?

Yes. The problem is not present using 4.0.2

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Win 8.1, i5 3570k, Nvidia GTX 780ti

Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?

64 bit.
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

The first shot shows correct rendering in 4.0.2, the second and third are from 4.0-1875

Forgot to mention, these artifacts happen using any of the graphic backends and on 4.0.2 it looked correct using all of them.

Can you find which build that the behavior changed? Can you try the fast depth option in latest builds?

Can you provide a fifolog? https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Fifoplayer

Does this occur on all graphics backends in latest development builds? What backend did you use in 4.0.2? Does it occur in any of them on 4.0.2?

Dolphin-x64-v40-1107 doesn't have the issue.

I concur, 4.0-1192 broke it. It occurs on all hardware backends (I haven't tested the software renderer) in current builds and previously worked on all hardware backends in 4.0.2. Fast depth has no effect as far as I can tell.

A five second FIFO log is available here: http://1drv.ms/1sqvujr
Let me know if you need a shorter one.

Whelp, I think this is pretty damn confirmed! Thanks for the great work narrowing it down.

Can you take another look at this issue in Latest master, just in case something fixed it?

It is still there plus before every intro video of the game i get this annoying warning message with latest http://prntscr.com/4or413.

I tried to narrow this down, but other problems throughout the branch make it hard. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16CUMFEHjfMRO9YpHwvyDLvNs1Hl_99q0xBduWLvtj3c/edit#gid=0

I'm having a look at this too. It also causes a problem in TMNT 2007(gamecube) by the way. It's minor; vertical lines in the opening videos.

It seems my issue doesn't have the same root cause. But will likely fix the issues with videos in EA games.

Ps. JMC4789 can you update your spreadsheet with those in between missing commit numbers I can't sort by date. I don't use Git things.

The missing commit numbers are ones that didn't affect the issue at all and I didn't need to write down.

Sure but I've nearly fixed the EA games' video problem.

...is the EA video problem related to this? It shouldn't be; as that only happens on NVIDIA cards. This bug happens on AMD, NVIDIA, and IntelHD cards. Perhaps they're an edge case or something, though, and this isn't...

Also, I think the EA Video bug existed prior to 4.0-1192, not sure about the TMNT one, as that appears to be different.

Either way, here's the full list of commits I was working from, https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/compare/450bde27bb2d7a47335c9800d3a29e012c9d67e9...a9a8c730748b8c8a2e83feb4c38626361cf9daa1

Good luck, I really hope you find something good with this.

Any update with this?

  • Status changed from Accepted to Fix pending

Fixed in PR 2075 -> https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/2075

It's still partially broken on NVIDIA cards, but other computers should have no issues whatsoever.

Fixed by 4.0-5569 -> https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/6bbf77450714df5fa2a379e20e483905ce8f3889/

NVIDIA cards will still have issues with it due to the NVIDIA bug.
