Description

Game Name?
Every game that uses the Classic Controller, I assume. I tested it with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Game ID?
RGLE7D, SX4E01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
Starting with version 4.0-2167 and up, the right analog stick of the emulated Classic Controller is broken. It either starts spinning in circles or it's locked to moving towards the left. I tried with both a 360 gamepad and a keyboard, and both present the same behavior, so it's not a problem of calibration. I used several different versions to find where the the controller went wrong, and they all pulled the same configuration from the same User folder.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The right analog stick should behave properly, as in previous versions.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Download build version 4.0-2167 or newer.
  2. Configure the Classic Controller emulated extension.
  3. Try to play a game. The right stick should not behave properly.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-2167 and newer (up to 4.0-2198, the current latest one as of the moment of writing).

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Yes. 4.0-2148 and older.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64. Intel Core i5 4.4 GHz. EVGA NVIDIA GTX 680 SLI. 8 GB G.Skill DDR3 RAM.

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
Not that I can think of.

Does it only happen with the Classic Controller, or does it also happen with GCPad / Nunchuk?

It doesn't happen with the emulated GC controller. The only game I can try (Twilight Princess GC) works flawlessly. I don't know about the Nunchuk, since it doesn't control the camera in Xenoblade, so I didn't try it. It works fine to control the movement, though.

Happens with me too...

I'm having the same issue, the right stick is just doing its own thing while trying to play Xenoblade Chronicles, making the camera move by itself.

I have the same problem with the build 4.0-2227. It's ok with the stable version.
the right key of the right stick works fine, but when I try the left/down side key, it just works like the combination of the right side and the up side key.
I tested it in the Xenoblade and Mario car.

Tested and confirmed. Also tested PR648, which fixes it. Hopefully it will be merged to master soon.

I would like to add something, because its a bit different for me.
4.0-2167 completely breaks my controller (PS3 Controller with both XInput and DirectInput). The Controller didn't do a thing up until Revision 4.0-2184.
With Revision 4.0-2187 the right controller moves the camera in Xenoblade only in one direction. Which means, if I tap the controller up or down the camera moves only up.
This is still happening in 4.0-2238.

Is this for the Classic Controller? Does it work correctly on the preview in the configuration pane?

I had this problem with the classic controller, yes. The preview on the configuration pane made it look like the controller was working fine but once in game it would not work correctly.

Between 4.0-2167 and 4.0-2184 the normal one is broken too.
Since then only the classic controller has the issue with the right stick.
It's working fine in the configuration pane.
