What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
I loaded up my games in opengl mode and dolphin instantly crashed.

What did you expect to happen instead?
I expected the games to play properly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]
1.Start the game up in opengl mode
2.Dolphin instantly crashes
3.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-2227

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
4.2

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Intel Core i5
Intel HD 4000

Because I'm unable to reproduce this, it'd be nice if you could find the exact builds that this behavior started on through bisecting.

Actually, this only happens specifically with Intel HD 4000 integrated graphic cards. I'm not sure if Dolphin or the card is to blame. OpenGL, in Dolphin, doesn't work on my laptop, but works fine with my gaming PC.

Id like to make an addition to this error report, the game runs once in opengl mode and then when its re-opened it crashes at that time.

The last stable working version is 3.5 from my testing.

Old OGL (pre-4.0) had no shader cache, and we're fairly certain that deleting the shader cache will allow games to run again. I have no idea what the Intel HD drivers are doing to cause this problem, though.

That fixes it partially... now i have a black screen on load for the first game load and after that it starts crashing again.

whats the last build without the shader cache?

I also had instant crashes with OGL on my HD 4600 in January 2014, but the crashes disappeared, I'm not 100% sure, but I'd guess it had to do with driver update, since new Intel drivers were releasedavout that time. So, what Intel HD drivers do you have? Try upgrading to the latest, if that isn't the case already.

I'm pretty sure an HD4000 should work. I'll ping degasus to look at this.

Last time I've tried them, it worked fine. But this was a year ago. Did you upgrade your driver?

I could have sworn i was using the latest one but it turns out that they recently released an update to it, Updating to the latest version fixed the crash on load in OGL.

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

Seemed to be a driver issue.
