Description

For some reason, the slot that the GC-Microphone is plugged into is linked to the controller that controls the GC-Microphone. This is problematic in 4 player games like Mario Party 6/7, as well as confusing to the users. A microphone plugged into slot B will only respond to the mic button pushed on controller 2. This is incredibly unintuitive.

Rather than having the button configured per controller, why can't we just have a small configuration window for the GameCube Microphone that let us set the button to something else? Users may prefer a keyboard key, or maybe they'd want to set it to multiple controllers. Sure, we can technically do that in the current behavior, but it sure isn't easy. Also, from what I can tell there is no real documentation on this behavior and I discovered it thanks to Totalnerd saying. Then I didn't believe him until I actually tried it myself.

There are forum posts with people discovering this problem, and I think a simple configuration dialogue for the GC mic having its own dedicated input/button would be fine, as that's how it actually works, right?

I'd also be fine with writing a guide on the GC Microphone if we're not willing to change this crazy behavior.
