Both Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy exhibit the same issue. I am just assuming that both games are broken for the same reason.

Just checked with 4.0-3685. No change in behavior at all.

No change in behavior with these two games has occurred.
I used 4.0-5072, 4.0-4905, and 4.0-552. There was no difference in observable behavior with either game. I tested it multiple tests with 4.0-5072.
I make sure to fully delete the save folder before each test. The entire folder that contains the save files is deleted fully.

Can you post a log file for this? Delete the dolphin.log file, and set Dolphin to log everything to file, with the verbosity of warning, play the game, and upload the dolphin.log file.
I can't do anything with this info, but maybe somebody else can.

Here is a log file made during the Wheel of Fortune softlock.
Updated by parlane almost 10 years ago
Can you provide the log for the next stage, after the softlock. The softlock appears to be because it fails to launch the wii main menu.
Updated by scizor2120 almost 10 years ago
There is a second softlock that occurs when this screen appears http://imgur.com/ViSh4ol if one hits "Delete File". Here is a log from that event.
I attached another log file that occurs when one hits "Continue without saving/loading" .
I have no idea what the deal with these games is.

I didn't understand how this file upload system operates, and did not realize I needed to keep the file locally until the actual post has been saved.
I thought when I attached it, it would attached.

I believe that is an issue with webbrowsers not the site itself :)

It looks annoyed that there is no system menu installed.
Updated by parlane almost 10 years ago
Try installing the system menu: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-how-to-get-a-almost-fully-working-wii-menu-on-dolphin

After about an hour of messing with that guide and other guides, I think I managed to install a clean system nand to Dolphin. Note that I still received identical softlocks while using the NAND from my actual Wii from 2010.
I launched from the emulated system menu for the heck of it. It didn't actually make a difference in behavior.

something is wacky with Wheel of Fortune.
The legal text in the opening screens doesn't match what shows on the real console.

I can get the screens from the console if it would help, it contains actual copyright text.
importing a save made on the console loads the game.
Dolphin correctly creates most of the save's header block (first 0x60 of Wheel.dat) There is a missing u32 at 0xC-0xF
The rest of the file (starting at 0x60) is all null created by dolphin.
But the file created by the wii has content for the first 0x7B4 bytes
Updated by lpfaint99 almost 10 years ago
I'm uncertain.
I do not know at this point where things go wrong,
The call to CWII_IPC_HLE_Device_FileIO::Write(u32 _CommandAddress)
points to the a memory location that is null for all 0x53ba0 bytes that it is writing.
Searching in ram I found another memory location with the correct content for the save.
By switching those addresses through the debugger, it correctly creates the file,
but of course that doesn't identify the root cause or how to fix it.

I finally got Jeopardy, and I can say that the problem isn't that the save can't be read, but it's never saving. From the moment it loads it's unable to read/write to the NAND, it's pretty crazy spamming the same message over and over again.

I uh, played around in 4.0-9390 and it loaded the save despite error messages.
Can this be closed, or is Wheel of Fortune still broken?

- Status changed from Accepted to Fixed
Both games were working when I tested this for Wii Speak.
