Description

Game Name = Go Vocation!
Game ID = SGVPAF

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
The game will crash after the loading of the Merry Bay screen once D3D is being used as the video backend (no matter what global options are being set).

Detailed description (crash dialogue) says that, "DX11::TextureCache::CreateTexture failed in TextureCache.cpp at line 106: Create Texture of the Texture Cache" being Dolphin is crashed.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The game will not crash at all. Moreover, the same game runs well in Dolphin 3.5 stable release (tested it on my sister computer) but with lower fps.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open the game without any save and using D3D as video backend (possibly requires D3D11 and running on Windows 8+, doesn't matter with which video cards since it has crashed on both AMD 7000 series display card and GTX 560. IIRC default global setting will do the job.)
  2. Once the game is loaded into a scene where a girl will start to talk to you, the game halted and Dolphin get closed after clicking on the error dialogue.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Dolphin 4.0 (Stable) (Tested on my sister computer with 2 crossfire AMD 7000 series display cards)
Dolphin 4.0.2 (Stable) (Tested on my machine with one GTX 560)
Dolphin 4.0-2636 (Developmental builds) (Tested on my machine with one GTX 560)

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Yes, Dolphin 3.5 stale release.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
My computer:
Windows Server 2012R2 (Well certain bluetooth related files were copied from Windows 8.1 to make Dolphin works with real WiiMote)
i5 760 (overclocked)
GTX 560 (stock clock)

My sister computer:
Windows 8.0
i5-3650k (unlocked the multiplier)
2 x AMD 7770 Display Cards.

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

If requested, further information such as global configuration can be provided.

By the way, the game has no default game.ini at all.

You mean Go Vacation!, right?

hr = E_INVALIDARG. width = 2.
Because it is a simple bug, somebody will revise it immediately. Perhaps.

Oops.
hr = E_INVALIDARG. (width = 2, height = 2, tex_levels = 4)

Yes, I do mean 'Go Vacation!'. Sorry for the typo tho. Another bug that I have found regarding D3D backend is related to another game called 'Slient Hill: Shattered Memories', but I will report it in another bug report instead.

Thanks for trying to repair the bug for 'Go Vacation!'.

  • Category set to gfx

Maybe degasus/neobrain could take a look at this?

If I read the report correctly, OpenGL runs this game just fine. If that is true, can you record a fifo log including the place where D3D would crash?

Any update on this? A fifolog would help a lot.

I'm getting exactly the same error: "DX11::TextureCache::CreateTexture failed in TextureCache.cpp at line 106" on "Family Ski and Snowboard". I'll gladly do a fifolog if it will help. If someone could point me to a tutorial on how to do it. Is it worth creating a new issue, or can I tag on to this one?

I should add that it works fine in OpenGL, but the issue has occurred for as long as I can remember; at least as long as balance board support has been in Dolphin (I never played it on Dolphin before then).

Here is a fifolog of "Family Ski and Snowboard" which captures the crash.

Please don't upload large files to the issue tracker in the future, we have limited space :(

I know it's inconvenient, but next time use a third party filehost. Thanks!

Oops, beg your pardon. Here's another link:

This game has nothing to do with employment, thus it gets a title change.

First impressions are that it is working fine. I've played a whole slope with no crashes. I'll keep testing and let you know if there are any issues, but I think this can be considered fixed; at least for "Family Ski and Snowboard". I don't have "Go Vacation!" to test.
