Description

Game Name?

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door

Game ID?

G8ME01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.

As instructed by the Graphics configuration windows, I tried to press SHIFT + 0 on my keyboards some times with free look enabled to increase the step distance since the default one is way too slow. After, I pressed SHIFT + W to zoom in and it was still acting like the default step distance which I found way too slow to be efficient. The mouse pan, the wasd key works, the reset command works, but only the step distance change commands failed to work.

What did you expect to happen instead?

I expected to have the ability to make the camera zoom faster or slower. I know it's not my device because if I run a Windows version of dolphin using wine, it works perfectly. So, it's either my OS or Dolphin, but since I found strange why every shortcuts works but this one, I came here first.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. On the game boot up, pass the warning screen by pressing a button.
  2. Wait until you see a red book.
  3. Press the left shift + 0 4 times (that is usually the speed I comfortable with and it should be very noticeable that it's going faster).
  4. Press and hold SHIFT + W and the camera will zoom, but very slowly while from what I got on a working version, it should be faster.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

A compiled version of Dolphin 4.0-3395 for Linux 64bit That was the version I got the issue, but I recall having the release version 4.0 64bit for Linux and still had the issue. However, I may have tested on at least 2 Windows versions I can't remember their numbers running on wine and it worked perfectly.

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?

Well, I didn't tried to get an old version, but I did got the issue on the 4.0 release version. So, consider this as a no, it didn't changed anything.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Since my OS has a convenient utility to show them, here's a screen cap of those info:

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

It's not really possible to show it, but I did no big changes in the graphics configuration except enabling free look.

This has been sped up in 4.0-5785 so that it takes no more than 3 seconds to rach maximum. Alternatively, a gamepad or other keys can be mapped to the distance change under the Hotkey settings.
