Description

Game Name?

F-Zero GX

Game ID?

GFZE01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.

Dolphin gets an error and hangs a few seconds into a race.

What did you expect to happen instead?

I expected to be able to finish the race without receiving an error.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Launch F-Zero GX.
  2. Choose Grand Prix, Novice, Ruby Cup, Captain Falcon, default settings, and start race.
  3. Receive error a few seconds into the first race.
  4. Note: This doesn't occur 100% of the time. I tested this three times and only received the error for the first two. The third attempt I was able to finish the race.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

4.0-3400.

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?

Not sure. I have experienced crashing on older versions of Dolphin but not that specific error message.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Windows 8.1 64 bit
Intel Core i7-2600K
GeForce GTX 580

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

Try using single core or SyncGPU.

I'm having some difficulty reproducing the error at this point. I retried the grand prix but was now able to finish it without receiving any errors or Dolphin hanging. This is still with dual core enabled.

PS: where is the SyncGPU option? I can't find it in the interface.

Right-click > Properties > check "Synchronize GPU Thread". Single-core is usually faster, though.

Well I tried testing it for a bit with dual core disabled and I haven't gotten any errors so far. I'm not able to reproduce the error all the time with dual core enabled though so I'm not sure this is conclusive of anything.

I've run into this before. I know it happens, but there are issues for the dualcore problems. This isn't a bad issue, but there are other issues about this, so I'm closing it. Thank you for the update; at least we know it can still happen!

By the way there was another issue I ran into where for some reason the initial loading screen occasionally loops instead of going to the intro screen. I don't see any bug reports about that but I've heard users talk about it before so I assume it's a known issue. Has that been reported already?
