Emulator Issues #7809
closedTilt/Point on screen no longer works on current master?
0%
Description
Game Name?
Super Mario Galaxy
Game ID?
RMGP01
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When the game asks for you to "point/tilt your wiimote at the screen" whatever controls you added to the EMULATED wiimote, nothing happens. You remain forever in the galaxy, and no matter which key you press, nothing will happen. The specific galaxy is the one where you must surf on a ray and the other where you must roll a star ball.
Also if you try to shake the wiimote the key-pressing will be rarely registered and even if it in fact becomes registered, there will be a delay before something ever happens.
What did you expect to happen instead?
Have proper movement and key-pressing to be registered.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Start the game.
- Enter one of the first 2 domes (depends on the galaxy listed above that you want to test).
- Reach the "npc"s and talk to them. This will trigger a scene where you must hold/point/tilt your wiimote to achieve the so-called "basic" position, which seems impossible to me (and others who have experienced this issue).
Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Dolphin 4.0-3935 (current master)
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Probably, yes. Will try to track it.
What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G620 @ 2.60GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
Other users also expirience this issue on the current master:

"Upright Wiimote" seems to fix the key-pressing not registered error, but even if it is disabled there shouldn't be such problem (but, there is).

Tried to reproduce said issue in new super mario bros on level 1-2 where you have to tilt the platforms by tilting the wiimote, tried this on a 360 controller, doesn't work sideways nor upright. Tried with nunchuck mode and lastly on keyboard-mouse mode as well and still no luck.
Version used was 4.0-3935

Yup, I am using an emulated wiimote and a nunchuck. This issue prevents anyone from tilting, and now it's confirmed - it exists in other games too.

I was playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 on emulated Wiimotes, and everything appears to be working in latest master? Am I missing something?

At the time of writing, Dolphin 4.0-3935 was the current master, on which versino did you play?

Tried SMG2 right now with Dolphin 4.0-3944 and tilting did not work (tested on one of the gliding missions).

Right. I was a little out of date, apparently. Sorry.
Fixed in PR1446 -> https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/1446

Yes it did fix the wiimote delay but I still can't tilt. Also now when I start Dolphin I get unknown opcode error. Tested on Dolphin 4.0-3944. Plz fix

Probably because it's not merged. It's fixed in that PR, i promise. Stop spamming this issue. If you want support go to the forum. The bug has been reported, confirmed, and fixed, there is no need for further comments about it here.
