Description

Game Name?
SSX Tricky

Game ID?
GSTE69

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
Upon loading the game, when you reach the "Checking for Memory Card in Slot A" screen, the game claims it is unable to detect a memory card in that slot, even when memory cards are present in both slots. Removing and reloading the memory card doesn't solve this. The same thing happens when using the Load/Save option in the options menu.

What did you expect to happen instead?
Expected the memory card to be recognized and read just fine by the game.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]

  1. Load the game with a memory card in slot A.
  2. VoilĂ

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Various revisions from 3.0 onwards.

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Dolphin 3.0 and before seem to work for some reason. All revisions from 3.5 onwards do not work.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
AMD Athlon X4 750K @ 4.1GHz
4GB RAM @ 1333MHz
AMD Radeon HD 7770
Windows 8.1 x64

Unable to reproduce. I used a GCI folder in the latest dev builds and it read/saved with no problem on my first try.

I should mention this only happens with SSX Tricky.

There is also an option to "Manage Memory Card", which on console would take you back to the GC menu and let you do stuff with the contents of your memory card, but because Dolphin doesn't require a BIOS file (and because I don't have one), the game freezes when trying to use this option. Do you think this means that this game actually REQUIRES there being a BIOS file for the Save/Load feature to work?

I'm using SSX Tricky, the game has no problem accessing the memory card. And no, I'm on skip bios too.

Try enabling GCI folder instead of memcard. I'm on the same Game + GameID, so I'm confident this can work.

GCI Folder works. Thanks for the help!

Well... still an issue. Thanks for confirming what I thought though.

Just an update. Tried to run the game on Dolphin 5.0 (the latest stable release) and neither the Memory Card nor the GCI Folders option work anymore. The game will refuse to identify a memory card and saving will be disabled.

Game Name/ID is the same.
Problem/Expectation/Reproduction are the same.
Used Dolphin 5.0 stable.
