Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Boot any game in Dolphin X64 for Windows XP 64 bit with DSound on

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
DSP plugin should load, instead I get the error message "Could not
initialize backend DSound, falling back to NULL", then a similar message,
"Sound backend DSound is not valid, falling back to NULL", then Dolphin
closes. It should at least run with Nullsound, as the error message
suggests. When booting with nullsound, the emulator works.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r2745 and r2835

Please provide any additional information below.
Specs: Core2Duo E8400 3,0 Ghz; 4Gb RAM; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260; WinVista 32
Bit/WinXP 64 Bit. On Vista 32-bit on the same computer, it works perfect.

Do you have the latest DirectX redist installed ? Also make sure audio card drives
work properly with DSound.

I have the DirectX redist but not sure about my audio card. I'm not sure how to
figure out what card I have actually...

Works for me, sounds like a driver issue on your side...
