Emulator Issues #8191
closedFind different terminology for "stable"

Description
Given that we fix bugs faster than we can comfortably tag releases as "stable", maybe we should replace our current release terminology.
Here are some ideas:
- stable -> frozen
- development -> current
(stolen from LibreOffice)
- stable -> still
- development -> fresh

Disagree that this is a terminology issue. This is a process issue. If someone was willing to cut a release more often and work on fixing the release blockers, we wouldn't be accumulating all these problems.
Note that we're "fixing bugs faster than ..." but also creating tons of new bugs in the process. TFN still has some unfixed regressions, for example.

- Easy changed from Yes to No
I don't think this should be tagged with Easy. Even if it only is a matter of changing the names, it isn't something that can be done in just a PR.

Yeah, I feel like this is a process issue.
Maybe we could implement something halfway between stable and git. Even if it's just "Select the build with the least regressions from last month and call it a 'monthly'"

Good luck figuring out which one is least buggy :P

- Status changed from New to Questionable
- Milestone deleted (
Current)
I really don't think this should block a release, it's not a regression, it's not really a huge problem for users or anything.
Someone else feel free to override me here.

If this is a process issue then this ticket should be advanced.
Dolphin has something halfway between stable and development now called 'Beta'.

I suppose we "fixed" this by switching to a rolling release scheme (see https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2024/07/02/dolphin-releases-announcement/)
