Emulator Issues #8203
closedBug: File Monitor Log Type does not work
0%
Description
Game Name?
Any game.
Game ID?
Any ID
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
Dolphin has the ability to output the file names of things loaded by the game onto either the console, log window, or file. As of late, enabling the log type doesn't seem to output anything for any Wii/Gamecube title (either compressed/decompressed, or from a .dol file). OSREPORT and other log types appear to work still.
What did you expect to happen instead?
Upon running the game with the log type/log output enabled, I should expect to see output like this (this is coming from Nights: Journey of Dreams):

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]
- Go to Tools -> Show Log, and then Tools -> Show Log Configuration
- In the Log Configuration panel, tick "Write to Window" and either toggle All Log Types or just toggle "File Monitor".
- Run a game while the "Log" panel is showing.
Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Dolphin 4.0-5416 (8f4bcf3ec33e63b02e001b7256148e6f94c95da8)
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Can't say certain, but it definitely did work at some point.
What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
GFX Card: NVidia GeForce 680 GTX
CPU: Intel 2500k @ 3.3ghz
MB: Asrock z68 extreme 3 w/ latest BIOS
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
No.
