Description

Game Name?
Super Smash Bros Brawl (NTSC)

Game ID?
RSBE01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
Dolphin crashes when pressing start on the character selection screen. Crash report attached.

What did you expect to happen instead?
Go to the stage selection screen.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Keep clicking on A until you get to the character selection screen.
  2. Choose characters with player 1 and for the CPU at player 2.
  3. Press start to start a match.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
Dolphin 4.0-5901

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Dolphin 4.0

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Mac OS X 10.10.2
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Intel Iris 1536 MB

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

Had to delete a good portion of the crash log (everything past "Trap Number" up to "External Modification Summary") since pastie wouldn't accept large files

Working fine for me on Windows. Might be related to Mac OS X; need someone else to confirm.

Actually it doesn't, I tested it once and it worked, then every time after that it crashed.

Does this work for you in 4.0-5942 and newer?

It worked a couple times then on the third or fourth time it crashed again. Here is the crash log:

I've never gotten this issue in 4.0-5991. I never had an issue with any version before either :P

I'm still having trouble and it seems to crash with Melee as well.

Or maybe I'm just dumb and don't read issues.

Raising priority.

It looks like it's trying to output rumble to the GCAdapter. Are you using a GCAdapter?

Actions #13

Updated by jeffrey.pfau over 9 years ago

At the very least, the crash happens in GCAdapter code--it's trying to push the rumble status to the GCAdapter when it crashes, but if there isn't an adapter in use...then that must be an interesting bug.

At the time yeah I was using a GC Adapter.

I haven't tried this out in a while but there doesn't seem to be any problem now on the official version.
