Emulator Issues #8465
closedDirect input force feedback causes emulator slowdown with some devices

Description
Game Name? All
Game ID? NA
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words. Constant force cause delays in all games that I have. When the controller shakes the game slow down to 10/5 FPS.
What did you expect to happen instead? The game to remain at the same speed.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- set a controller to rumble with constant force.
- run a game at full speed
- make the game rumble.
- turn off rumble in game or in dolphin (same effect) game will no longer slow down.
Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? I noticed this in 5410 and tested it on the latest at the time of this issue posting (6000).
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work? I didn't notice one yet but it has been ok in the past. Determine where the problem introduced it self will be difficult.
What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Intel i5 4690k Haswell @ 43Ghz.
Asroxck z97 Extreme 4
16mn Mushkin (992070) running at 932.8Mhz 10,10,10,27
Win7 64
Nvidia geForce GTX 660 Ti (Asus)
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
Few notes, this does not effect sine or square they seem to work ok. Only constant force has the issue. More info may be found here

A game easy to see the issue is spy-hunter. As soon as you go in to the first turn in training the rumble kicks in and game crawls.

I'm using a Mayflash 2 Port as my slave (only thing that supports constant that I have) and it does not have an issue with constant rumble for me. Is it only with certain controllers

"Is it only with certain controllers" what is? You have controllers besides the MF that slow down?
Updated by JMC4789 over 9 years ago
I meant to add a ? Is it only with certain controllers? I don't get a slowdown with the mayflash, and it's the only controller I have with constant rumble.
Updated by ulaoulao over 9 years ago
Possibly. Do you have the native mayflash, or a regular driver based mayflash?

Regular driver installed from Mayflash website. I hate that our IRC doesn't always update issues any more.

This just started happening to me with the leftright option on a shanwan ps3 controller using the shanwan patch of sixad on arch linux. It didn't happen in previous versions, but all of a sudden it popped up. I'm currently running dolphin 4.0-8163. sine, square, and triangle don't work at all, but the lag is even worse if I put them in with OR in the controller settings.
