Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Get latest revison of SVN where SMG hack is included, or get the video
plugin from here http://forums.dolphin-emu.com/thread-165-page-3.html
2.Get a save so you begin at the observatory
3.Enter a dome, try to grab the pull star

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To enter most galaxies, you need to click a blue star inside of the domes
with the wiimote. but the stars doesn't respond to the wiimote cursor at
all. (Emulated wiimote, but should work)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Also slingpods doesn't work. Grabbing star bits with wiimote doesn't work. Shooting
them works. Selecting yes or no, save file, etc. works.

Probably an issue with reverse projection somewhere...

Seems more like a bios thing...How does it work in LLE?

Actions #4

Updated by PianoGamer about 15 years ago

If you mean by disabling "HLE the BIOS all the time", there's no effect. (The option
has turned itself back on when the game is stopped). Also tried "Enable JIT dynarec",
but then the game just have a black screen and Dolphin says it's loading forever.

Actions #5

I believe he means using the LLE plugin, but since noone knows how to rip the files
needed for LLE, I think that noone can answer that but the devs that have these files.

I have no idea what he meant by "bios thing". Same goes for the dsp lle plugin...I
don't see why it would have an affect here.

It seems like a projection or other graphics error to me...any chance of getting
screenshots of what it should look like compared to what is shown on dolphin? That
could help.

Oh, and a save or a specific location devs can see this at...since not everyone is
familiar with this game :)

Sure, here's a
screenshot:http://s512.photobucket.com/albums/t326/KHRZ/?action=view&current=Pullstar_Error.jpg
So what is supposed to happen: The blue star in the bubble should light up when the
wiimote is over it, but it doesn't. When you click it with the A button, Mario should
be dragged up to it. (I've tried clicking the whole screen instead). This is
definitely not a graphical issues as it's the star's function itself that doesn't
work. I have of course turned off all enchantments/Set resoluation to native/Tested
on single core but nothing helped.

It
To get there, start the file with 121 stars, move forward and to the left to inside
the small round building (dome).

It could very well be a graphics issue. Metroid Prime scanning issues were graphics
issues. Because EFB used to not autoscale, so if you used real EFB copy, then the
scanning textures were in the wrong places and caused them to not work or be in the
wrong places. This could be something very similar, some texture isn't getting put
in the right place or isn't getting drawn and the game relies on that texture as it's
point to "grab"

Actions #9

Updated by PianoGamer about 15 years ago

Ah OK, didn't know games could do that

Actions #10

Updated by marcus about 15 years ago

Could you give me a savegame so I can test this?

(it's User\Wii\title\00010000\524d4750\data\GameData.bin)

Actions #13

Updated by marcus about 15 years ago

Yeah, the star doesn't work at all...and the log has nothing to say about it either.

Any idea how to fix the crazy normals (aka disco mode, aka blinky ground, etc.)?

Actions #16

seems related to the scanning issue in mp3 as well. That would be my guess. Pretty
sure thats a projection issue.

This is getting old...

Try looking at the source code and see if YOU can do anything with it. Programming
is difficult and complex in itself, and emulating modern game systems is one of the
hardest projects that can be attempted.

We will fix things one at a time, as is possible. As this is a flagship title, it is
high on the priorities list (not that there is one or anything XD). However,
destination alpha is very complicated (just like projection), and it will probably
be quite a while before this is fixed, as there are many more important things which
need work.

Bugging us about it will not help AT ALL. In fact, it will probably get you banned
from google code. One more idiotic comment like the ones above and I will find out
how to report you and will then do so.

What the hell are you talking about? Don't rehash a thread that last closed a year and half ago without being clear or doing propely investigation.
