Description

Game Name?
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition

Game ID?
PZLP01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
There's a graphical glitch which appears in the upper left corner in some zones of the game where you have a minimap, I've done some searching and it appears to be the icon for where you entered the zone or something similar. My thought is that it's a miscalculation somewhere in the graphics code, and as it's quite easy to reproduce perhaps it can lead to Dolphin becoming even more accurate?

Linked two screenshots courtesy of masterotaku from the Dolphin forums, from his/her HD texture project down below under the proper section.
(The glitch appears without any texture packs too, just found it easier to use already existing images)

What did you expect to happen instead?
(Leaving this empty as it's quite self explanatory)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]

  1. Start the game
  2. Choose Zelda: Ocarina of time
  3. Play until you are on the zone "Hyrule Field"
  4. Look in the upper left corner and you'll see the issue

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-6000

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
No.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
i7 2600k @ 4.7 GHz, Geforce GTX 780 Ti 3GB, 8GB RAM, Windows 8.1

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

I thought it meant there was a grotto in the area when you didn't have rumble enabled, huh.

Just watched some footage of the original game on youtube, and it's supposed to be a marker on the minimap for grottos hehe =P

I think he misunderstood and thought it was supposed to be in the corner. Is it in the corner on console/ Can you get a screenshot of where it's supposed to be?

It is supposed to be there. That "problem" is reported since the begginings of N64 emulation.
Remember that N64 overscan some lines, to fit in CRT TV's (remember those black paint borders?).

Try the original hardware and game with an modern TV.

Thank you for the information. That makes perfect sense.
