Description

Game Name?
Aggressive Inline

Game ID?
GILE51

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
Dolphin freezes after completing the 60,000 point goal in the Movie Lot level
and playing the cutscene.

What did you expect to happen instead?
Gameplay should continue as usual.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Start Career mode and select the Movie Lot level.
  2. Enter the movie studios, on the first road to the right, through the rolling doors, then turn left and head to the graveyard at back of the studio.
  3. Press X in front of this gravestone (https://imgur.com/UxTH4Ht) to start the 60,000 point challenge.
  4. Get 60,000 points (gameplay is very similar to Tony Hawk.)
  5. Watch the cutscene. Dolphin freezes after it finishes.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-6204

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
Yes, Dolphin 4.0.2 doesn't freeze.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Intel Core i5 3570K
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
Log here: http://pastie.org/pastes/10178308/text

Dolphin also freezes after completing at least one other goal in the game
(grinding over a statue in the Civic Center level.)

Unable to reproduce. Completed the mission no problem and continued doing other stuff. I have a near identical computer (Core i5 3570K, GTX 760) so I'm not exactly sure what's going wrong for you.

Try using single core maybe?

That's strange. I can reproduce this pretty reliably, and I managed to bisect it. 4.0-2293 seems to be the first bad build. 4.0-2291 works. I'm using the default config and an empty memory card, and my ISO's checksum matches the one on redump.org.

Using single core didn't fix it. I also tried HLE audio (the game's config forces LLE) and it didn't fix it either.

Just to be sure, I erased my config again and tried the latest build (4.0-6213) in dual-core and single-core mode. It's still broken for me.

2293... is that the dolphinbar commit? It shouldn't be affecting a GameCube game at all.

Ah, sorry. I meant build 2293 from here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/list/master/72/

I think it's the merge of PR #664.

Could you possibly have a bad dump of the game? Do you have speed up disc transfer rate enabled?

That commit would make sense for the game crashing; but I've played through it AFTER that was merged; so I know I didn't run into issues.

Right click the game, go to properties, go to info, generate the MD5 and post it here, please.

Yeah, it's possible. My MD5 is 9a09306a54395805bb92876fc6862be0. It's the same as the redump.org one, but I guess they could have gotten it wrong too.

I tried it with and without "speed up disc transfer rate" and it didn't make a difference.

I just checked my md5 and it matches yours and redump. I'm totally confused now.

Do you think it's the order you did the objectives in? Could you try starting a new save file and playing to this point? If it happens again, upload your save file and I'll play from it. I'd like to solve this if possible.

No response and I can't reproduce the issue. I'm sorry, but I'm closing the issue as there is nothing else that can be done from our end. I hope you find a solution, maybe going to the forums will yield some more answers.

Hi, sorry about the lack of response. I forgot about this issue over the exam period and I haven't had time to do any more investigation recently. If I have more information, would it be better to post it here or to create a new issue?

As for the save file, I've been testing with a blank save file every time and heading straight to the objective. The issue was also reproducible on my laptop (i5 4200U, integrated graphics) using the version of Dolphin in the issue, but I haven't tested it with a recent version of Dolphin yet (I'm at work at the moment.)
