Description

I would like to ask on behalf of the TAS community for a feature in Dolphin with which you can "branch" controller input while creating a TAS.

Right now, you can create 1 player and 2 player movies, but it's impossible or at least quite unfeasible to create movies with more controller ports than that because there are only so many fingers on a human's hands and keys on a keyboard. This is where branching controller ports would be useful and could make 4 player TASes possible.

You could play each controller seperately at a time. For example: Recording input for controller port 1 for 100 frames, then rewind and record input for port 2 (while playing back the input that was already recorded for port 1), etc. It would be nice if each controller input could be shown in a table along with an indication which ports are played back and which ports are being recorded (see here: http://i.imgur.com/QlRuul8.png This is only a concept idea and is not to be considered final or anything).

At this time, this concept might or might not have been realized in other emulators (such as FCEUX and BizHawk).
