Description

Hi, I have two monitors, a Dell U2412M and an acer V193. The Dell refreshes at 59.95hz, and the Acer refreshes at 60.02 hz. I run Debian Linux.

No matter what I do short of disabling the Acer monitor whenever I use dolphin, I CANNOT make it sync to my primary monitor (the Dell) instead. I'd like either an option in settings to determine which monitor to sync to, or if it is impossible to safely do that in windowed mode I'd like for dolphin to sync to whatever monitor it is full-screened on, instead of defaulting to the first monitor listed by xrandr.

I looked at the dolphin source but am unfamiliar with OpenGL and indeed C++ (I am used to regular C). I could not figure out how which monitor to sync to was selected. So I'm making a feature request.

I think this will apply to multiple OSes, but the problem might be related to RandR.

I am using the nvidia proprietary drivers, if it helps.

botched the title. Should be "VSync".

Actions #2

Updated by phire over 8 years ago

  • Subject changed from Sync - choose monitor to sync to to VSync - choose monitor to sync to
  • Status changed from New to Questionable
  • Relates to usability changed from Yes to No
  • Operating system Linux added
  • Operating system deleted (N/A)

I'm not sure there is an interface that allows us to do this.

Appears to be a window manager issue.
